Ethimo for Borgo Santandrea, Amalfi

The authenticity of Made in Italy is a precious ‘feature’ that can be expressed in many sectors that also include hospitality. Here, the experience can be told in structures that celebrate Italian excellence in terms of style, design, craftsmanship, culture, art, gastronomy, and hospitality at its best, with focus on the local area and landscape.

Borgo Santandrea embodies the essence, identity, and quality of Italian hospitality, thanks also to its ‘relationship’ with talented artisans and iconic brands in the world of furniture and design.
With a constantly evolving hospitality project, Borgo Santandrea has found in Ethimo the ideal ‘partner’ for defining the style code of its outdoor environments.
This luxury 5-star hotel overlooking the enchanting village of Conca dei Marini is a true jewel set in
the blue Amalfi sea.

Completed to inaugurate the 2022 summer season, after a major renovation by architect Rino
Gambardella lasting about four years, this exclusive and extraordinary Mediterranean holiday
destination with its 1960s atmosphere and contemporary allure has now been enhanced with
elegant new rooms. With its rooms and suites, restaurants and lounge bar, fitness centre, private
beach, striking infinity pools and lush terraced gardens, Borgo Santandrea offers its guests a truly
unique, unforgettable Italian experience and welcome. Each room in this ‘abode’ reveals not only
huge attention to excellence and detail, but also the desire to personalise and make every moment
of a stay here special, thanks to a concept that celebrates Made in Italy design and craftsmanship,
with constant reminders of the charm of the Amalfi Coast.

“Borgo Santandrea is the end result of a great challenge, an ambitious project by two families of
hoteliers, the Orlacchio and the De Siano, connected by their in-depth knowledge of the world of hospitality, handed down through three generations, and by their solid friendship.” Says Maurizio Orlacchio, General Manager & Co-founder of Borgo Santandrea. “Borgo Santandrea is our home, a seaside residence, a masterpiece of Italian architecture that combines 1950s design with Mediterranean style, a unique haven enhanced by a private collection of furniture and light fittings from the fifties and sixties. A luxury villa on the Amalfi Coast characterised by Italian hospitality.”

A certain sensitivity in interpreting seaside resorts and outdoor life, together with attention to detail and the quality of the materials used to produce each individual outdoor collection, have allowed Ethimo to enhance the outdoor spaces of this hotel with products that create cosy relaxing atmospheres, in line with the dolce vita on the ‘Divine Coast’, as it is known.
With some of its best outdoor collections, such as Grand Life by Christophe Pillet, Rafael by Paola
Navone, Kilt by Marcello Ziliani and Swing by Patrick Norguet, Ethimo in this way expresses the beauty, authenticity, and quality Made in Italy of its contemporary Mediterranean style.

But it was, above all, Ethimo ‘s consolidated experience in creating custom-made solutions and ad
hoc fittings for the high-end hospitality sector and its great ability to always achieve perfect style
coherence, that saw it involved as an active partner from the outset in defining style choices for the
hotel. A partnership that finds its common thread in the full desire to satisfy, in terms of aesthetic
refinement, comfort, and quality, today’s hospitality needs.

Many of the furnishings were customised to better interpret and convey the iconic charm of the
Amalfi Coast, such as the Rafael tables, their tops enamelled in a radiant shade of blue that reflects
the colour of the sea, the Elisir dining armchairs, declined in a different and more intense shade of
blue, or the cushions of the Essenza seats and lounge beds, in fabrics customised with textures and
decorations in a perfect alternation of white and cobalt that brings typical seascapes to mind.
A recurring ‘theme’ in the collections chosen to enhance the various open-air settings, such as the
panoramic terraces of the suites and some of the more stunning spaces, is teak, a glowing, warm,
natural, fine material (FSC, Forest Stewardship Council certified) that goes well with the interior design as a whole.

The Ethimo furnishings, in addition to their primary function and vocation, are tasked with
amplifying those sensations of comfort, welcome and warmth typical of the best of Italian hospitality that can be sensed throughout, helping to define an atmosphere that is as harmonious as it is elegant and sophisticated.
