Reindeer, Puppet, Christmas Tree: Origami Steel's metallic Christmas Decors refer to three traditional Christmas symbols. But why are these elements so important symbols for a unique event in the year?
Children traditionally play with the snow in December, even if in recent years the warm climate imposes temperatures on Mediterranean winters that are often too high for flakes to fall; in creating the "puppet" (the first of which we have documentation dates back to the fourteenth century!) these give it anthropomorphic characters, using woods and plants to configure the nose, the harmonious expression of the smile, the eyes ... and this same serenity brings the snowman of Christmas Decors to his physiognomy.
The reindeer is also obviously associated with cold climates and in particular with the figure of Santa Claus.
"Faster than the eagles came his reindeer. He whistled, shouted, and called them by name [...] like dry leaves in the breath of a savage hurricane, when they encountered an obstacle, they went up to the sky. So up beyond the houses the houses. reindeer flew, dragging the sled full of toys […] "reads a poem dedicated to these figures attributed to Clement Clarke Moore.
As for what we traditionally call "Christmas trees", however, it is enough to remember that the fir has always been considered a magical tree, for example already consecrated by the Greeks to Artemis; then the legends passed to the Nordic myths and finally they were made their own by the Christian tradition with St. Boniface who, cutting down an oak that some pagans worshiped in reference to Thor, saw an evergreen fir materialize in its place and therefore a symbol of eternal life.
The #origamisteel Christmas Decors are versatile objects as they can be adapted to different functions and with the tripartition in green painted metal (tree), white (puppet) and reindeer (red) they represent the Christmas colors but also of Italy, in which they are designed and manufactured: you can place them in a vase, in a plant or in the garden but also use them as place cards, bookends, candle holders, decorations for the home or for the Christmas tree itself ...
