S-CAB: two on two
2022 draws to a close with many satisfying achievements for S-CAB, the most recent of which is the ADA (Archiproducts #design Awards) for two of the new products launched in 2022. The distinguished panel of international judges delivered their verdict: the ADA award for the Furniture category to DRESS_CODE by gumdesign and the Sustainability award to HUG by Studio Meneghello Paolelli.
DRESS_CODE and HUG are products that communicate in different ways, but both are firmly rooted in the company’s enthusiasm and spirit of research. Timeless and limitless designs, perfect for both indoor and outdoor settings.
DRESS_CODE: made up of a coated metal structure, visually light and soft thanks to its circular section and the articulation of its curves, with the detail of the wooden armrest, which through two simple hinges wears its own textile lining. The latter is the distinctive feature of the armchair. From the single chair to the collection, a single gesture is enough: an agile and practical change of clothes like when a person chooses what to wear according to the context in which they find themselves, from everyday to more formal.
For our HUG collection, we chose the certified regenerated post-consumer industrial PCR technopolymer, obtained from the processing and regeneration of production residues thanks to the use of energy from renewable sources. This product thus reaches a higher quality and ethical level.
HUG is technically a technopolymer monocoque, but it is actually a flexible system in which the #components combine to create different chair and armchair configurations. Designed for the outdoors, it also fits well in interior spaces, with the possibility of covering some of its parts with fabric.
