SI-SI Bold, DRESS_CODE and FINN: the soul of S-CAB indoor contract furniture


Three designers, three indoor proposals, three styles: SI-SI Bold by #meneghellopaolelli presented in April 2023, DRESS_CODE by gumdesigns of 2022 and FINN by #marcelloziliani of 2020. Tese are among the most popular S-CAB seats, designed to satisfy contract and retail requests that are quite different, but characterised by a shared #design flexibility thanks to the wide range of fabrics (including eco), materials and finishes, whose combination re-dresses the basic product.

Consistency, transversality, material and colour: these are the keywords of S-CAB, which has been representing Made in Italy for over 60 years and since its foundation has chosen to produce in its three production sites - now on an area of 85,000 square metres in the Brescia area – to ensure speed of response and high quality standards.

SI-SI Bold, chair and small armchair, is perfect around a table or to complete a waiting area, as is #finn, which in its wooden version acquires a Nordic taste. #dress_code, on the other hand, is the right proposal for a moment of relaxation and consists of chaise longues and small tables. Products different from each other, but always welcoming and sturdy.

Having acknowledged its versatility in outdoor settings and the practicality of its basic concept (two identical elements that function indistinctly as either a seat or backrest once hooked to the frame), Meneghello Paolelli’s SI-SI seat is now enriched with the SI-SI Bold version featuring comfortable padding, making it perfect for indoor settings. A family of chairs is thus completed, which, starting from the archetype of a tubular construction and curved sheet metal, both in steel, with the new addition of a fabric feel has translated the more pragmatic needs of the outdoor world.

Among the fabrics proposed, there is also the swatch in wool blend with recycled materials. A sustainable fabric, made mainly with yarns from recycled PET bottles. The bottles are collected, separated by type and colour, processed and transformed into flakes. The polymer is then extruded into a yarn, textured and treated with permanent flame-retardant properties. Global Recycle Standard GRS and STANDARD 100 certified fabrics by OEKO-TEX®.

DRESS_CODE, #design gumdesign

DRESS_CODE is a seat made up of a painted metal structure, visually light and soft due to the circular section and the curves that comprise it, with the detail of the wooden armrest, which wears its own textile covering through two simple hinges. The latter is the distinctive feature of the armchair. From the single chair to the collection, a single gesture is enough: an agile and practical change of clothes like when a person chooses what to wear according to the context in which they find themselves, from everyday to more formal.

DRESS_CODE is inspired by the canons of haute-couture, playing with the combinations of colours, between structure and seat, with the textures of indoor and outdoor fabrics and with their processing: in addition to the smooth, sheet-like fabric, we propose a square quilted version, as well as a wave-shaped and padded one; quilting and padding are both a graphic element and a source of greater comfort.

The concept of matching set is also borrowed from the world of fashion. #dress_code includes also a family of casual coffee tables, to be used individually or in partial overlapping of heights and shapes next to the #dress_code seat.

Metal tops, HPL, in addition to the innovative carbonated cork, rest on the base made in coated metal with a tubular section like the armchair of the same name: to furnish our rooms dedicated to relaxing with unusual glam.

Finn, an unexpected project. Simple only in appearance, the seat enhances the size of the structure, which we could define as extra. Profiles with deliberately generous sections create a pure and minimalist architecture to become the supporting element of a soft, welcoming and enveloping seat.

Materials, colours, finishes and refined details are the ingredients to enhance the personality and character of this collection.

Chair and armchair are available, respectively for frame and seat, in the combinations of steel and wood, steel and fabric, wood and wood, wood and fabric, to compose a complete and coherent overall picture capable of satisfying the most varied living solutions for private environments as well as for all situations related to the multifaceted contract world.
