How to recreate a Nordic style using Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware collections
Typical of the chilly lands of northern Europe, the hallmark of Scandinavian style is a focus on snug, comfortable settings in line with Hygge principles. With an accent on minimalism, natural materials and functional living spaces, Scandi style features carefully thought out interior design.
Large, light-flooded rooms are organised, practical, and free of unnecessary objects. The lack of natural light during the long winter months explains the predominance of light and neutral colours such as white, cream, beige and pastel shades like pink and sage green, complemented with the occasional dove grey or anthracite accent.
Clean lines and large, bright windows offering splendid views across the surrounding landscape characterise the Nordic home, featuring wall units and furnishing elements such as raw wood occasional tables, comfortable sofas or chaises longues scattered with soft, comfy cushions and woollen blankets. On floors and walls, concrete-effect tiles with a soft texture help shape a functional living space with a no-frills style.
Scandinavian design favours light-coloured floors in warm shades of wood with a soft feel. Woodeffect strip tiles in a Hungarian herringbone or straight laying pattern, laid parallel to the shortest
or longest wall, depending on the size and depth of the room, are a great option, as are stone or
concrete-effect porcelain stoneware tiles in light, delicate shades that bring warmth and character
throughout the home.
