Krummenacher and CM Racing Team's Sunday at Jerez ends with a crash

A day to forget for the #cmracingteam, within a weekend to forget as well. After the death of Dean Berta Vinales yesterday, and the suspension of all track activities scheduled for the day, today Race 2 of the World Supersport Championship was staged, after the ok from Vinales Family. The #cmracingteam and #randykrummenacher gave their best, but their race was interrupted just before the chequered flag.

Before the race there was the Warm Up, where Krummenacher shone. The Swiss rider in fact showed an excellent pace in view of the race, finishing eight laps and obtaining the second position, 128 thousandths from the top. The race got underway at 12.30: Krummenacher started well from the fifth place he had gained yesterday, but a contact with Oncu forced him to end the first lap in tenth position.

The Swiss rider then tried to recover, but the traffic and the numerous duels slowed him down. In the last lap Krummenacher tried to conquer the ninth position dueling with Manzi, but a contact with the latter at turn six led him to a crash, which ended prematurely the race of the number 21.

So the weekend of #cmracingteam ends with a zero, now sixth in the ranking reserved for teams with 199 points. The Roman team and Krummenacher will be back on track next weekend (1-2-3 October) at the Portimao circuit, for the tenth round of the #worldssp championship.

Randy Krummenacher: "It has been a very difficult weekend, first of all because of the dramatic accident in which young Dean Berta Vinales lost his life. Today, however, things have returned to an apparent normality and we took to the track with an infinite sadness in our hearts. Unfortunately since the early stages of the race I found myself caught up in traffic, losing time that I was unable to recover: it's a pity because in the race I was not able to maintain the pace I had in practice. On the last lap I was fighting with Odendaal and Manzi for the eighth position, but while overtaking Manzi I was knocked out, so my race ended with a crash. I want to close this Sunday with a special thought for Dean Berta Vinales' family, team and friends, to whom I wish a lot of strength".

Manuel Cappelletti (Team Director): "First of all the whole team offers its deepest condolences to the family of Dean Berta Vinales. The race today was difficult: at the start we had a contact with Oncu, who I think should be more quiet, which has complicated our plans. Compared to the previous days the conditions have changed, and we needed time to adapt to the less grip on the track. On the last lap unfortunately a contact led to Randy's fall, ending in the worst way a complicated race. Expectations were certainly higher, but now we must immediately turn the page and think about Portimao".
