Somerset House is re-opening on 16 July
After nearly three months of being closed, #somersethouse will re-open parts of our site to the public on Thursday 16 July, and we look forward to welcoming you back.
From 16 July, you'll be able to visit The Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court, our acclaimed exhibition Mushrooms: The Art, Design and Future of Fungi, the exhibition shop and Hej Coffee.
The Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court will be open from 10.00 - 19.00 daily.
Mushrooms: The Art, Design and Future of Fungi exhibition and shop will be open from 12.00 - 18.00, Tuesday to Sunday. Advance online booking is required.
Hej Coffee will be open for takeaway only, from 12.00 - 18.00 daily, with outdoor seating available in the courtyard.
As we welcome you back, our number one priority is the health and wellbeing of our visitors and staff, so we've introduced a number of measures across the site to help everyone remain safe while they're here.
These include:
- We have reduced opening hours for the courtyard, Mushrooms and Hej Coffee.
- If you would like to visit our Mushrooms exhibition you will need to book a timed slot in advance online. This is essential to manage capacity and enable us to comply with Track & Trace if necessary.
- Entrance to the site is via the Strand only.
- Social distancing is in place across the site, with additional signage and visitor experience staff in place to help.
- Hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities are available throughout the courtyard and site.
- A one-way system is in opertation in interior areas of the site, including the Mushrooms exhibition, Hej Coffee and toilets to enable social distancing.
- All interactive touch points have been removed.
- We have introduced PPE for staff in some of the closer proximity positions.
- Cashless payments across the site.
- Self-contained toilets are accessible via a one-way system.
