Fornasetti - Unusual Living rooms

Fornasetti presents the new "Unusual Living Rooms" collection, five different proposals for living spaces united by the rigorous restraint of their #design and the imaginative fantasy that distinguishes the Atelier's decorations: Leopardo, Facciata quattrocentesca, Malachite, Soli a ventaglio and Solitario.

Sofas, armchairs, and benches are complemented by tables, lamps, mirrors and other accessories that complete the large selection, endowing the living room with an ironic and sophisticated ambiance.

The #creative insight behind the new collection is hidden in the pages of two small handwritten booklets, recently discovered in the #fornasetti archive. It is a collection of unpublished drawings and writings by #pierofornasetti depicting suns with a human face and unusual features that inhabit the pages of the volumes, forming a sort of bizarre population. The Solitario decoration reveals those previously unseen suns hidden in the two books, along with that almost metaphysical #fornasetti playfulness, and certain phrases that play with the word "sole" ("sun" in Italian) are shown on the structure.

With the same pleasure in functional divertissement, which was typical of Piero and is still the centre of the #fornasetti world, the suns become furnishing decorations, creating a complete living room.

"Unusual Living Rooms" celebrates that line and that style, typical of drawing, which is the unmistakable element at the origin of the #fornasetti oeuvre. Although diverse in inspiration - architectural, natural or purely graphic - the decorations all pay tribute to that black line that comes from drawing and engraving.

Linearity and method are inextricably linked to the vital, inexhaustible #fornasetti imagination, capable of illuminating any environment with fantasy.

The fabrics that cover the seats have printed trompe l'oeil or optical motifs that continue on the tubular iron structures, thereby creating subtle echoes and illusions. Attention to detail meets high craftsmanship, giving life to truly artistic creations.

"From a collection of ironic drawings, made by my father with that lightness of his that was never sentimental, there emerged a desire to build spaces that create a special atmosphere for a time and a place that will once again be shared", Barnaba #fornasetti.
