Krummenacher and Caricasulo first and second in Superpole at Assen

The #assen TT Circuit in #thenetherlands today hosted the second day of practice and Superpole making up round four of the Supersport world championship. Like yesterday, conditions today were very cold, making work difficult for the riders and technicians alike.

The two Bardahl Evan Bros World SSP riders, #randykrummenacher and #federicocaricasulo concluded yesterday's practice sessions in first and second place respectively, thus confirming the competitiveness they already showed during the opening championship rounds.

This morning, and with a track temperature of around 5 degrees, both men were on track for the final practice. Despite not improving on yesterday's times, Krummenacher retained overall first position and Caricasulo second in the combined standings.

In Superpole the two Bardahl Evan Bros riders began cautiously, before pushing in the later stages. Unfortunately a rider broke his engine, leaving oil on the track and causing three riders to crash. Race Direction therefore brought out the red flag and declared the session over. With a time of 1'38"010, Krummenacher closed in first position, scoring his first Superpole of the season. With a best of 1'38"115 Caricasulo finished second, and so tomorrow both will line up on the front row of the grid for the 18-lap race.
