Busy fortnight in the run-up to the F1 summer break: Return to the Hungaroring
The Hungaroring is located on the outskirts of Budapest, and Formula One Grands Prix have been held there since 1986. This year, the Hungarian Grand Prix features on the F1 calendar for the 38th time.

Lewis Hamilton registered a first victory on the circuit just outside the Hungarian capital in his rookie season (2007). He is the most successful driver there, with a tally of eight wins - three for McLaren and five as a member of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team - which is twice as many as the second-most successful contestant at the Hungaroring, namely Michael Schumacher on four.

Of the other drivers currently active in F1, Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon and Max Verstappen have each won once in Hungary. Lewis also leads the qualifying statistics, with eight pole positions to his name; he is closely followed by Michael Schumacher on seven.

McLaren are the leading team on eleven wins, ahead of Williams and Ferrari on seven each. The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team has won five races in Hungary so far, each time with Lewis at the wheel of a Silver Arrow. In terms of qualifying, the team is level with joint leaders McLaren and Ferrari on eight poles each. The brand with the three-pointed star is also the most successful engine supplier in the Hungarian Grand Prix, with 14 victories for Mercedes-powered cars in Budapest.

The lap record stands at 1:13.447, which was clocked by Lewis in Q3 in the 2020 season. The fastest race lap (1:16.627) was also set by Lewis in the same year.

Mick Schumacher experiences emotional weekend at Goodwood
Ahead of the last two races before the F1 summer break, the team sent a contingent along to the #goodwoodfestivalofspeed held last weekend. Reserve driver #mickschumacher had the privilege of taking a seat in two very special Formula One cars - the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance from the 2021 season and the W02 in which his father Michael competed in the top class in the 2011 season. Mick wore the same helmet and overalls that Michael used during that season. Esteban Gutierrez also took the W12 out for a run and thrilled the fans with a spectacular display of donuts.

Highly successful GTWC weekend at Misano
The fifth race weekend of the 2023 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS was hosted by the Misano World Circuit. In Saturday's race, the AKKODIS ASP pairing of Timur Boguslavskiy (FIA) and Raffaele Marciello (SUI) chalked up their third win of the season after the Swiss half of the partnership had secured pole position. In the second race, the duo in the number 88 Mercedes-AMG GT3 had to settle for fourth after an impressive fightback. At the halfway point of the 2023 season, Boguslavskiy/Marciello lead the overall standings as well as the Sprint Cup in which two of the season's fixtures are now complete.

Mercedes-AMG Customer #racing teams produced some additional worthwhile results in the Silver Cup at Misano. In this particular class, there was even a one-two victory for the brand in the first race, as Frank Bird (GBR) and Jordan Love (AUS) in the #77 Mercedes-AMG GT3 fielded by Haupt #racing prevailed over Ezequiel Perez Companc (ARG) and Jesse Salmenautio (FIN) in the #90 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Madpanda Motorsport. Perez Companc and Salmenautio rounded off a highly successful weekend for the brand in the second race on Sunday with third place in their class.
