Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

Building towards the opening round of the UCI Mountain Bike E-Enduro World Cup (E-EDR) on June 3, both #gasgas SRAM #racing and #gasgas MOTOREX #racing have completed an important riding and testing camp in Finale Ligure, Italy. Eagerly getting their first laps in on the new #gasgas prototype race bike, all four riders are now feeling confident and excited to go racing!

  • First official team ride for all four #gasgas E-Bike racers
  • Teams get to make final adjustments to the new #gasgas prototype race bike
  • A week of testing, training, and top trails were enjoyed in Finale Ligure

Sun, sea, dusty trails and plenty of bike time were the order of the week for #gasgas riders Alex Marin, Johannes Fischbach, Alexandre Fayolle and Simon Carlsson as they clocked up the miles around one of mountain biking’s top destinations - Finale Ligure in Italy. With over 200 trails within a 20-kilometre radius, Finale Ligure provided the perfect backdrop to a super-fun week of training and testing.

With riders spending some quality time on the new prototype race bike in Italy, four days were spent dialing in settings and fine tuning each rider’s bike. With additional team technicians on hand, no stone was left unturned in helping everyone to get comfortable and up to speed.

Knowing the opening round of the E-EDR will be held nearby in Pietra Ligure next month, the final day of testing was spent putting the riders through a race simulation. Bracing themselves for a big day in the saddle, the guys mimicked what’s to come in June with an intense 50-kilometre ride that included over 3,000 meters of climbing.
Signing things off with a BBQ and a few drinks, the focus is now on the countdown towards round one of the UCI Mountain Bike E-Enduro World Cup on June 3.

Marlene Metzler – Sports Marketing #gasgas Bicycles: “It’s been an awesome week in Finale Ligure. Firstly, it was important to bring everyone in the team together to help them get to know each other better. The vibes were really good, and it’s been nice to see that develop. Of course, this week was also about putting the finishing touches to our new bike, and overall, it’s been a very productive week. The riders are heading home happy and ready to push for the season start. With about six weeks to go until round one we’ve still got lots to do, but everything is coming together ahead of our race return to Finale Ligure.”

Alex Marin – #gasgas SRAM #racing: “It’s been a busy week, but a fun one. We knew there was plenty of work to do, but across the week there’s been massive improvements. We’re leaving home with a clear plan of what to do during this next month before round one. On a personal level it was great to ride here in Finale Ligure as I’d never been here before. Of course, there’s hundreds of trails and I couldn’t ride them all, but I got an understanding of what we’ll face on race day.”

Johannes Fischbach – #gasgas SRAM #racing: “I think the team has done a great job. For our first effort, everything was as it should be. I’ve been #racing for a long time, so it’s nice to see things clicking within the team so quickly. I was excited to get some time on the bike too, it’s been super positive, and it’s got me excited to start #racing it.”

Alexandre Fayolle – #gasgas MOTOREX #racing: “Now that we’re a week in, it feels really good. Bringing everyone together like this to ride and test has been great. We got a lot of work done and are moving in the right direction. We’ve got a lot of support from #gasgas and some major industry players. As a rider it feels good to know these #people are behind you.”

Simon Carlsson – #gasgas MOTOREX #racing: “I’m keen to get on the road again, see new places and go #racing. Round one is closing in, so it’s getting exciting now. Although #gasgas is a new team, it feels really good already. The structure is super strong and very supportive. I think that will be very important as the season progresses. As for the new bike, well I’m loving it. It’s still early days, but we’re in a good place.”
