Cologne – Viktoria Köln 1904 e.V. is one of the successful soccer clubs in Cologne. With a long tradition and a special fan culture, the club is the soccer representative for Cologne natives on the right Rhine riverbank. The new team vehicle, a black, top-of-the-range #mercedesbenztourismo, joined the regular service fleet for the German soccer league in mid-February. The transport provider for the club is Elmar Weinzierl Omnibustouristik GmbH. The touring coach company not only provides the driver, but also the team touring coach, which is exclusively equipped to meet the needs of the soccer professionals.

 Mobile clubhouse

The Tourismo, which is around 13 meters long and has three axles, has 30 luxuriously upholstered seats. At the rear, a seating and reclining area was created with a lounge area comprising seats facing each other and two electrically retractable tables. The seats can be converted into two bunks using an upholstered table cover. This will make the area a place for the team to unwind in future and provide the coaching staff with a space for game analyses or one-on-one meetings in a relaxed atmosphere. The tables at 16 further seats can be folded down electrically, creating padded leg rests. Ten seats are designed as normal touring coach seats with 4-star legroom. Each seat row is equipped with USB charging stations, the front seat row is reserved for the coaching staff. Seats also offer a USB-C and HDMI connection so that game analyses or strategy lineups can be displayed on the three 19-inch LCD screens in the touring coach. A kitchenette, restroom and a comprehensive multimedia bundle with WLAN router round off the comfort package.

There is a reason why the Tourismo is one of the most popular touring coaches in Mercedes-Benz history: Its outstanding safety concept makes it one of the safest in its class. Weinzierl touring coach company opted for the complete safety program and has extended the many safety features already implemented as standard. The comprehensive safety package now includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ART), Lane Guard System (SPA), Cornering Assist system Sideguard Assist, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPM), Attention Assist (ATAS) and a reversing camera. This means that the Tourismo has almost every safety system currently
available for a Mercedes-Benz touring coach.

60 years of touring coach tourism from Cologne

Elmar Weinzierl Omnibustouristik GmbH is celebrating its 60th anniversary in March. Specializing in travel and transfer trips exclusively for the Cologne, Bonn and Düsseldorf area, the Cologne-based company has made a name for itself particularly in the sport, culture and business sectors with its Düsseldorf-based subsidiary 02elf.travel. For example, the transport service provider was in charge of the teams' transfer journeys for the 2022 European Basketball Championship and the 2017 Ice Hockey World Championship.
