  • Hitech's Irishman goes to 11 wins on the season and with two rounds to go has a 106-point lead over Gray.
  • First win of the season, in race two, for Oliver Stewart (GBR - Hitech) who becomes the tenth different winner of 2022.
  • Ugochukwu extends his leadership in the rookie standings and he is third in the overall ones after two second places in Thruxton.

After struggling in the middle part of the season, #alexdunne (IRL - Hitech GP) was back in great shape in the F4 British Championship certified by FIA and scored a one-two win to extend his lead in the championship standings over Oliver Gray (GBR - Carlin), who managed just 11 points at Thruxton. Thanks to the two victories Dunne reaches 11 wins in the season and breaks the record of 10 belonging to Zane Maloney and Jamie Caroline. The third-to-last round of the British series saw 17 Tatuus F4 T421 on track, powered by the 180hp #abarth T-Jet 1.4 engine, closely derived from the engine that delivers top performance on the #abarth 595 and 695. In addition to Dunne's one-two win, his team-mate Oliver Stewart took his first win of the season in Thruxton, winning race 2 with the grid reversed and keeping Eduardo Coseteng (PHI - Hitech GP) and Daniel Guinchard (GBR - Phinsys by Argenti) behind him. The podiums of race 1 and race 3, however, were identical with Dunne on the top step, Ugo Ugochukwu (USA - Carlin) second and Louis Sharp (NZL - Carlin) third.

Pleased with the one-two and the record number of wins in the season, #alexdunne, commented: "To break the record is pretty incredible, and to extend the championship lead too. I think I've just got to go out there [to Silverstone] and do what I'm doing every weekend: try to put it on pole, and then win the races.

The next round of the British series is scheduled for 24 and 25 September at the Silverstone circuit, where Dunne will be able to try to take the championship win with one round to spare, before the grand finale at Brands Hatch scheduled for 8 and 9 October.

F4 British Championship Overall Standings: 1. #alexdunne (IRL – Hitech GP) 382; 2. Oliver Gray (GBR – Carlin) 276; 3. Ugo Ugochukwu (USA – Carlin) 240; 4. Louis Sharp (NZL – Carlin) 205; 5. Aiden Neate (GBR - Phinsys by Argenti) 188.
