The moderately extravagant update brings user cross-play mods and a free steam weekend to The Anacrusis

Seattle, USA — June 2nd, 2022 — Five months post-launch, #straybombay is releasing its fifth major monthly update: The MODerately Extravagant Update. Working hard alongside the enthusiastic community since The Anacrusis launched on #steam Early Access and #xbox Game Preview earlier this year, The MODerately Extravagant Update–releasing on June 8th—launches with its first cross-play compatible user-created mod campaigns, a first-look at the new weapon-modification system, two new holdout maps, and a whole lot more!
To celebrate the MODerately Extravagant Update, The Anacrusis will be available for free to all #steam players from June 9 to June 12 and will be on sale for 50% off on #steam from June 9 to July 7 and on #xbox from June 14 to June 20. #theanacrusis continues to have full cross-play support between both platforms so this is a great time to team up and check it out.
Working hand-in-hand with the community, #straybombay has let community feedback guide their priorities for every update since launch. The vast majority of features and quality of life improvements added since launch–including holdout mode, offline play, private lobbies, better bot support, major performance and control enhancements, more dynamic animations for aliens, and more–came after requests from players.
The next updates being worked on include the addition of more new fantastical weapons, Versus mode, finishing Episodes 4 and 5, expanding mod support beyond maps and campaigns, adding a new season of content to the Infinity Pass, and more.
In The Anacrusis, players team up with up to three friends or AI to explore The Isolode, a massive luxury starship stranded in space and teeming with aliens. They must survive waves of enemies using an arsenal of vintage-inspired sci-fi weapons, spectacular offensive gear, and discovered perks as the game’s advanced Director 2.0 throws challenges their way based on their playstyle.

- Four-player Cooperative Fun- Team up with your friends in an infinitely-replayable fight against alien hordes to unlock perks, weapons, and new ways to play that you can share with your team!
- A Fight For Survival Is Just the Beginning- The first season of #theanacrusis tells the story of four unlikely survivors - Nessa, Guion, Liu, and Lance - who are unwilling combatants in the battle to defend humanity from the alien menace. Play and unlock more of the unfolding mystery of the alien attack.
- Fight Aliens Using Fantastical Weapons- Battle the alien menace using an astounding arsenal of classic sci-fi weapons. Buy yourself some time with a stasis grenade, toss a shield grenade to provide instant cover while you pop off a heal, and bring your friends back to life using the Respawner. Or throw caution to the wind and burn friend and foe alike with the Laser Rifle.
- Earn New Perks and Change the Way You Play- Matter compilers spread throughout the game give you access to dozens of perks that will change the way you play. Stack all of your upgrades to power up the last-resort pistol or boost your defense by supercharging your shield pulse. Unlock new perks as you play, and share your unlocks with everyone on your team!
- See How Long You Can Survive- In Holdout mode, take on an infinite alien horde and see how long you and see how many waves of aliens you and your friends can defeat.
- Never Fight the Same Battle Twice- In #theanacrusis, the AI Director 2.0 controls every aspect of the game. It spawns every enemy, directs each boss, and places every weapon, gadget, and health kit. No matter your skill level, you'll find the perfect level of challenge. More than that, Director 2.0 creates the kinds of video game moments that you can’t wait to tell your friends about.
- PC Friends, Meet Console Friends- #theanacrusis supports full cross-play between all platforms at launch, so players can play with their friends across all supported platforms.
