Rolls-Royce names Snowdrop Trust as House Charity for 2022

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is delighted to announce that its House Charity for 2022 is The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, a unique charity providing 'Nursing Care at Home' for local children who have a life-limiting or life-threatening illness.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is delighted to announce that its House Charity for 2022 is The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, a unique charity providing 'Nursing Care at Home' for local children who have a life-limiting or life-threatening illness. Based in Chichester, West Sussex, the charity provides Children’s Community Nurses, Health Care Assistants and emotional support through its Snowdrop Counsellors. Financial help can also be provided for families coping with the day-to-day problems of caring for a very sick child.

The charity was chosen through a process of nomination, shortlisting and voting involving colleagues company-wide. Nominations were scored against a set of criteria including location, children, education and organisations with a personal link to the nominating colleague.

The announcement renews a friendship that began more than a decade ago. The Sussex Snowdrop Trust was previously voted House Charity back in 2008, just five years after production started at the Home of Rolls-Royce.

We have supported families who are staff there and we are so grateful for the nomination and every vote made in our favour. We are excited to hear about the staff’s plans for fundraising and we will certainly make the most of this special year with the company. We have supported hundreds of children in the local area since the Trust was founded nearly 30 years ago. The Care at Home team continue to make a huge difference to the lives of local families whose child has a life-threatening or terminal illness. To have such a prestigious and large employer in Chichester help us raise our profile and vital funds really is fantastic.”

Throughout 2021, Rolls-Royce colleagues raised money for Chestnut Tree House, a children's hospice in Arundel, which provides specialist palliative care, support, quality time and, most importantly, fun for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions who are not expected to reach adulthood. Like The Sussex Snowdrop Trust, they had been House Charity once before, in 2012. Funds raised by staff were recently boosted by a significant donation following an online auction held through Rolls-Royce's private members' club, Whispers.
