Michelin is delighted to unveil its 2021 selection of Bib Gourmand restaurants in Belgium and Luxembourg. As the health and economic crisis continues to affect an industry that is doing its utmost to rise to new challenges, the MICHELIN Guide is, now more than ever, committed to showcasing restaurants that succeed in offering cuisine that combines quality and enjoyment at competitive prices.

Despite a particularly difficult year, the MICHELIN Guide inspectors managed to put together a very fine selection of Bib Gourmand restaurants. Working with empathy while taking into account the exceptional situation of the last few months, our teams were impressed by the perseverance, tenacity and talent that the chefs of Belgium and Luxembourg have so consistently demonstrated. For them, there is no question of giving up, quite the contrary!” said Werner Loens, Head Inspector for the MICHELIN Guides Benelux. “I like to say that chefs create happiness, a role that we all hope they will be able to play again to the fullest in 2021.”

Lovers of good food are sure to find what they are looking for at the restaurants in the Bib Gourmand selection for Belgium and Luxembourg, which includes no fewer than 23 new additions. This year again, the majority of the new locations are in Wallonia. La Petite Gayole in Thuillies, L’Incontournable in Namur and Chez Louis in Glimes will delight gourmets in search of an enjoyable, generous meal. Inspectors are also delighted to see restaurants such as La Table de Manon in Grandhan and Masu in Mons in the Bib Gourmand selection offering a more refined style of cooking.

Moreover, variety and diversity continue to define the 2021 edition of the MICHELIN Guide Belgium & Luxembourg, as demonstrated by the restaurants selected in Flanders. Between the gourmet Chinese cuisine at Ni Shifu in Antwerp, the warm atmosphere and authenticity of the dishes at De Lieve in Ghent and the relaxed gastronomy of Gastrobar Hop in Leuven, there is a Bib Gourmand restaurant to suit absolutely everyone. Brussels is also well represented with Le Tournant in Ixelles serving generous bistro cuisine and Le Coq en Pâte in Woluwe‑Saint-Lambert with its revisited contemporary Italian cuisine.

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is also home to a new entrant this year, Le Bistronome, where Chef Jean-Charles Hospital pays homage to his restaurant's name by creatively interpreting traditional gastronomic cuisine.
