Kawasaki Puccetti Racing – Prima giornata di prove SBK per Fores sulla pista di Jerez
Il grande caldo ha reso difficile il lavoro dei tecnici e dei piloti del #kawasakipuccettiracing al circuito di #jerez in Spagna. Dopo le due gare del CIV disputate a Misano Adriatico, Lucas #mahias e Philipp Oettl sono partiti subito alla volta di #jerez, per il secondo round del Campionato #mondialesupersport.
Questa mattina entrambi sono scesi in pista per la prima sessione di prove libere, nella quale Oettl (1'43"445) ha ottenuto il terzo posto, mentre #mahias (1'43"577) ha terminato in quinta posizione. Un turno che è stato utile per lavorare al set up delle due ZX-6R del team di Manuel Puccetti.
Nel pomeriggio si è disputato il secondo turno di prove libere. A causa del grande caldo, superiore a quello del mattino, i due piloti del #kawasakipuccettiracing non sono riusciti a migliorare i loro tempi sul giro. Oettl (1'44"152) si è comunque confermato al terzo posto, mentre #mahias (1'44"604) ha chiuso in ottava posizione. Nella classifica cumulativa delle due sessioni il pilota tedesco è terzo, mentre il francese è quinto.
Domani mattina #mahias e Oettl disputeranno il terzo ed ultimo turno di prove libere, in tarda mattinata la Superpole, e nel pomeriggio la prima gara delle due gare del weekend, in quanto il calendario 2020 del #mondialesupersport prevede due gare per ogni round.

"Non è stata certo una giornata facile, anche per il grande caldo. Ho lavorato molto con il mio team, solo in funzione delle gare e non alla ricerca del tempo sul giro. La mia quinta posizione non è ottimale per quanto riguarda il risultato, ma la giornata importante sarà quella di domani, quando disputeremo la Superpole e la gara. Cercherò di conquistare una buona posizione in griglia per poi attuare in gara la tattica che stiamo elaborando con la mia squadra, che ringrazio per il grande lavoro svolto oggi".
Philip Ottl
"Una giornata molto positiva. Questa pista mi piace ed ho trovato un buon feeling con la moto, tanto che mi sono potuto migliorare costantemente. Il caldo rende tutto più difficile, ma oggi noi abbiamo avuto un buon tempo sul giro, ma soprattutto un ottimo passo che mi fa ben sperare per le due gare di questo weekend. Domani sarà importante conquistare una buona posizione in griglia per poi lottare per la vittoria in gara. Ringrazio la mia squadra che anche oggi mi ha aiutato molto".

The high temperatures made work difficult for the #kawasakipuccettiracing technicians and riders at the #jerez circuit in Spain today. After the two Italian CIV races contended at Misano Adriatico, Lucas #mahias and Philipp Oettl travelled immediately on to #jerez for round 2 of the Supersport World Championship.
This morning, both were out on track for the first free practice, during which Oettl (1'43"445) finished third, while #mahias (1'43"577) closed fifth. A session that served to allow Manuel Puccetti's team to work on the setup of their two ZX-6R bikes.
The second practice ran in the afternoon. With conditions hotter than in session one, the two #kawasakipuccettiracing riders were unable to improve on their lap times. Oettl (1'44"152) nevertheless consolidated third place, with #mahias (1'44"604) finishing in eighth position. In the combined standings then, the German rider lies third, the Frenchman fifth.
Tomorrow morning will see #mahias and Oettl take part in the third and final free practice, before competing in Superpole in the late morning and the first of the weekend's races in the afternoon, in that the 2020 Supersport World Championship calendar foresees two races per round.

"It definitely wasn't an easy day, also due to the heat. I worked hard with my team, prepping for the races rather than focusing on lap times. My fifth-place finish isn't great as a result, but tomorrow is what counts, when we will have the Superpole and the race. I'll try to score a good grid position and then execute the race strategy I'm developing with my team, who I thank for all their work so far."
Philip Ottl
"A very positive day. I like this track and have found good feeling with the bike that has allowed me to continue to improve. The heat makes everything more difficult, but today we had good lap times and, more importantly, good pace, which leaves me feeling confident ahead of the weekend's two races. Tomorrow it will be important for me to score a good grid position so that I can fight for the win in the race. Thanks to my team for all their help today."
