  • CR-V Hybrid joins the rest of the CR-V lineup and four other Honda models in earning TSP status with Insight earning the pinnacle TSP+ rating for a combined six Honda models rated TSP or better
  • All fully tested Honda vehicles, including CR-V Hybrid also earn top U.S. government crash-test ratings

The 2020 CR-V Hybrid has earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) 2020 TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) rating. CR-V Hybrid joins the rest of the CR-V lineup, when equipped with specific headlights, Accord and three Civic models1 (Coupe, Sedan and Hatchback (excludes Type R)) in achieving TSP ratings. Additionally, Insight achieved a TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) rating, combining to six Honda models earning TSP or better.

For the 2020 model year, all CR-V models provide Honda Sensing® as standard equipment on all trim levels. Honda Sensing® is now available or standard on every Honda automobile model, and there are nearly three million Honda vehicles on U.S. roads today featuring this comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies, which includes Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Pedestrian Detection; Forward Collision Warning; Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS); and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

All Honda vehicles also benefit from Honda's proprietary Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, designed to protect occupants in a wide variety of frontal collisions, along with advanced supplemental restraint systems.

To earn the 2020 TSP award, a vehicle must earn "GOOD" crashworthiness ratings in all test modes, including in the challenging passenger-side small overlap test. A top-rated vehicle must also offer front crash prevention that earns an "ADVANCED" or "SUPERIOR" rating in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian testing, as well as "GOOD" or "ACCEPTABLE" ratings for available headlights; while TSP+ rated vehicles must achieve the same "GOOD" or "ACCEPTABLE" rating for their standard headlights. Additional Honda models are expected to receive top safety ratings from the IIHS in 2020 as the Institute completes further testing. Separately, every Honda model that has been fully evaluated in the NHTSA's 2020 model year NCAP testing, including the CR-V Hybrid, has received a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score2.
