Dunlop 2018 Tyre Facts - Revolution Evolution – Tyres That Keep On Developing

Last year saw the introduction of the 2017 LMP2 regulations and great success from teams that chose to compete on #Dunlop tyres. Winning every race in the FIA World #endurance Championship and European #LeMans Series hasn’t halted development of the tyres. Competition and aero package upgrades have brought higher speeds and loads and #Dunlop never stops improving.
Dunlop’s goal for the 2018 LMP2 tyres:
- Increased temperature operating windows
- Extended consistency
- Improved performance
- Better feel and feedback for the drivers
All five tyres have been redesigned with new specifications providing:
- Better balanced tyre package
- Increased durability to provide more consistency throughout multiple stints
- Extended tyre operating windows bringing more flexibility in tyre strategies
- Accelerated warm-up to assist with race starts and safety car periods
