Qatar night test draws to a close for Gresini Racing Team Moto3

The 2016 pre-season is officially over for #gresiniracingteammoto3 racers #eneabastianini and Fabio Giannantonio, who faced today the last of three days of night testing at the Losail International Circuit.
Bastianini completed 31 laps, setting a lap time of 2’06”389 at the end of the evening: the 18-year-old rider from Rimini focused his work on his bike set up, in particular to try to improve the front end behavior of his Honda machine. Even if he had not the chance to put in a fast lap with the soft tyre, Enea said he was satisfied with his performance in terms of race pace.
After a complicated evening yesterday, rookie #fabiodigiannantonio got good results today, improving himself by over a second and finding a good feeling with the bike ahead of the race weekend, which will start in the evening of Thursday, March 16 with the first two free practice sessions. The 17-year-old from Rome completed 31 laps, the best one in 2’07”162.
ENEA BASTIANINI (13th - 2'06"389)
“We closed the test quite well and I’m happy because we managed to solve some set up problems that had emerged on this track: we reduced the movements of the front end, therefore I was able to take more confidence, step by step. Unfortunately, when I put the soft tyre I didn’t had the chance to get a fast lap, so in the end we lacked on this area, but we can be satisfied about race pace and we can say that we are ready for the start of the season!”.
FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO (25th - 2'07"162)
“I’m very happy because today, like it happened in the first day, I always improved myself: the worked making small steps, without major changes to the bike to avoid taking the wrong direction. Doing so, at the end of the evening I could even push a little more getting good lap times, so I’m satisfied. Now we look forward to the race weekend: we’ll try to start on the right foot, right from the first free practice session”.
FAUSTO GRESINI
“We closed the test with Bastianini not so close to the top, but we are not worried and I’m convinced that at the right time Enea will be in the game. During the test he worked well with the team and today he would surely have been able to achieve a better performance, if a problem occurred when he mounted the soft tire had prevented him to do so. Enea is calm and relaxed and this is the important thing, so now we are just waiting to race. I’m also happy for Di Giannantonio, who today completed very positive runs, with good lap times: Fabio is learning and his team is helping him to grow”.
