Gresini Racing Team Moto3 concludes productive Valencia test

Comunicato Stampa disponibile solo in lingua originale.

The two-day test at the #valencia circuit came to a close today for Gresini #racing Team #moto3 racers #eneabastianini and #fabiodigiannantonio: after a first day partially affected by rain, the 18-year-old from Rimini and the 17-year-old rookie from Rome put in a good number of laps aboard their new #hondansf250rw machines, starting to make the first important work on the set-up, although in the afternoon the strong wind complicated a bit the work of the team.

Bastianini, who had a slight crash at Turn 4, showed a good rhythm: already pleased with the behaviour of his bike on used tyres, because of the strong wind Enea and his engineers opted to postpone further test on the set-up to the next test scheduled at Jerez on the 23rd and 24th of February.

On the other side of the garage, rookie Di Giannantonio positively continued his apprenticeship completing no less than 70 laps and ending the first outing of 2016 with a good lap time. Fabio worked well with the team already finding a good base set-up, especially with regard to the front end.

ENEA BASTIANINI (49 laps)

“This morning things went pretty well, then I had a slight crash and in the afternoon the strong wind slowed us a bit. We worked on the bike set-up, but with the wind it was definitely not easy to assess the behaviour of the bike, so we preferred to make not too many changes. There are still a few days of testing scheduled, so we have time to work. I’m satisfied because we are already very fast on used tyres, but we will try to improve our performance when we put the new ones”. FABIO DI GIANNANTONIO (70 laps)“Today I was able to put in a lot of laps and I managed to get a good lap time: overall it’s been a very good day! We tried different things on the bike and we can say that we have already found a good direction. Obviously I need to continue to gain more confidence and I have still to learn from the fastest, but I’m satisfied with the progress made in this first test of the year. In particular, we were looking for a better feeling on the front end and, working alongside HRC technicians, we found a good base. Too bad only for the strong wind that slowed us in the final part of the day”FAUSTO GRESINI“This first test of the year has been definitely positive: after yesterday afternoon’s rain, today we could make more laps and try different set-up solutions. Unfortunately today we encountered a strong wind: in this condition the bike moves a lot, so it was certainly not easy to work. Because of the wind Enea had also a crash. However, after this first outing we are in line with our schedule and we are not worried at all: Bastianini and Di Giannantonio god good lap times, now we move to Jerez where we will continue our work”.
