A successful partnership between Jeep® and Harley Davidson®

  • For the second year, Jeep® is the official sponsor of the main #harleydavidson events in the EMEA region.
  • 5700 test drives collected in total.
  • Last week end in Lake Faak (Austria), 85,000 motorcycles and more than 125,000 participants.
  • On display, the entire #jeep range and some showcars, with exclusive #mopar accessories.

For the second consecutive year, the #jeep brandhas been the official #harleydavidson sponsor at the European tour of the legendary American motorcycle manufacturer. The #europeanbikeweek at Lake Faak marked the closure of an extraordinary 2015 for the #partnership between these two global icons in their respective “worlds”. The #event in Austria is the largest gathering in Europe, with 125,000 visitors and 85,000 motorcycles.

The #jeep world at the Harley Village in Faak am See

Jeep was actually the guest of honour at the Harley Village, the central focus of each Harley #event, which in Austria covered an area of 1,000 square metres where the public was able to learn more about the brand, its values and the vehicles of the most award winning range of SUVs ever. A total of almost 1,400 test drives were carried out during the five day #event in Austria. This kind of activity is the best way to appreciate the off-road nature of the iconic #wrangler; to admire the comfort and the technological innovation of the flagship #grandcherokee; to enjoy the legendary #4x4 performance of the #cherokee and to experience the #renegade, the compact Italian #jeep that recently celebrated its first year of production, with more than 135,000 vehicles built for the European and North American markets.

Wrangler: a star at the #harleydavidson parade

Jeep and Harley-Davidson are synonymous with roads to be driven freely, with trips where the journey is more important than the destination. Each stop at the #harleydavidson tour had a spectacular parade that involved thousands of bikes. And in Austria, #jeep #wrangler had the honour of opening the road for the motorcyclists with its special “Dark Side”, which was designed together with #mopar, the brand of reference for services, customer care, original spare parts and accessories for FCA brands. The #wrangler "Dark Side" show car is based on the Rubicon version and equipped with a 2.8 litre turbodiesel engine with a five-gear automatic system. This special version has off-road bumpers, half doors, tow hook and winch, a performance bonnet and a chrome exhaust system, along with special leather interiors.

Mopar and #jeep: an increasingly strong cooperation

At each stop of the #harleydavidson events, the #jeep store was present as well and the public could admire and purchase the entire #jeep merchandising collection developed by #mopar, in addition to the clothes and accessories designed specifically for members of the #jeep Owners Group, the only official club dedicated to the brand. The same space also displayed three #wrangler kits, including bonnet, grille and mirror housings that were airbrushed live and then put up for sale.

Next to the store, the #jeep #renegade Trailhawk “Hard Steel” show car attracted the audience attention. This showcar combines a slick metropolitan look with a relish for extreme adventure: extra-big tyres, raised suspension, performance bonnet, and grille and side mirror housings in opaque black. Its technological attitude is expressed most clearly by its brushed steel bodywork, a glimmering metallic skin that echoes the world of vintage aviation and avant-garde boating. This silver contrasts superbly with the opaque black of various elements, including grille, roof- bars, mirror housings, 16" alloy rims, side strips, bonnet air vents, fenders and bumpers.

Two icons that meet and connect with each other: Harley Owners Group and #jeep Owners Group

Raise your fingers from the steering wheel to greet another #wrangler, move your forearm towards the asphalt when a Harley-Davidson is reflected in the chrome of another. Being on board an icon means feeling you are part of a family. This strong sense of belonging express at its best in the H.O.G., the HarleyOwners Group, and in the JOG, the #jeep Owners Group, the clubs for Harley and #jeep owners and those who are simply enthusiasts. H.O.G. and JOG involve and unite everyone who shares values of the two iconic brands: the pride of driving an icon, the desire for freedom and the yearning for adventure. The similarities between the two brands do not stop there. The members of the two clubs are in fact united by a passion for travel and adventure and by a personality that is transferred to the vehicles they are driving, both in terms of loyalty and customisation.

During the various stops of the festival, the public was able to join the #jeep Owners Group and purchase exclusive articles at the #jeep stand in the Harley Village. All the information about the #jeep Owners Group can be found at the following dedicated website.
