MXGP - Kawasaki: a tenth place for Tyla Rattray in the Netherlands

Tyla Rattray raced to a tenth place in the Dutch round of the FIM World #mxgp Motocross Championship at Assen, his final race in Europe for the Monster Energy #kawasaki #racing Team.

The South African started the weekend well with top eight placings in both practice sessions and confirmed his speed by qualifying seventh for the GP despite pain in his back. Sadly his start in the first GP #moto was not so good, but Tyla recovered from an initial thirteenth to finish tenth and he was again making rapid advances in the second race from eighteenth on lap one until his progress was halted as he damaged the radiator. Tyla now holds thirteenth place in the series standings.

Tyla Rattray: “It was a good weekend except for the second race where I crashed and retired. It was fun to be here in Assen for my last race in Europe; I will miss the fans, people and everyone. It was a good and bad weekend, I hurt my back on Saturday during the qualifying race and today I missed a good start in the first race. It was a really difficult track to pass but I managed to make some passes and finish the first race in tenth position. Then I had a better start in the second #moto but pulled over at the back of the track, and destroyed the radiator. Obviously it was pretty good event for the first time here in Assen but they need to built a longer track; the lap times were really short, 1’35’’, that’s really crazy.”
