The farming landscape as a necessary evolution of the natural landscape, but also the relationship between man and landscape and between land and local area, intended as a decalogue on food and the environment, will animate the city of Bergamo and its immediate surroundings from 5 to 20 September, at ‘I Maestri del Paesaggio’ (The Landscape Masters), an event organised by Arketipos and Comune di Bergamo, and which, five years after the first edition, will again be an unmissable event not only for sector professionals, but also for enthusiasts of landscape architecture and garden design.
This year, in line with Expo 2015, the event will focus on ‘Il Paesaggio che Nutre’ (Feeding Landscape), which will be interpreted with a rich programme of Workshops, Seminars, Aperitifs and side events, involving workers and creating awareness of landscape design, as well as food and the environment, among the wider public.
Catellani & Smith is one of the partners that has decided to support the event. This company has always been concerned about the relationship between man and nature, nature and light, and light and man, as well as a creator of light sources with powerful artistic and emotional effect.
This year Catellani & Smith, in collaboration with Architettura Sonora, will create intimate atmospheres in the garden of Casa Tresoldi, in upper Bergamo, a magnificent location next to the Corsarola, in the historic heart of the city.
The companies have decided to work together on innovative solutions that combine light, sound and landscape in a profound, significant way in order to make the multi-sensorial experience of perceiving the landscape even more exciting.
Light and Sound as dryads, therefore, who play with nature and become one with it, based on a concept that will recreate and envelop trees; but also Light and Sound as fundamental components which, when defining an architectural space and in design, as well as when coming into contact with the a landscape, are able to mutually enhance one another, creating new forms of experience.
‘Fil de Fer’, one of Catellani & Smith’s most iconic creations, here finished in gold, will light up one of the trees of the garden, while other ‘light sources’, developed out of Enzo Catellani’s latest desire to approach the delicacy of glass with sensitivity, will embellish and harmoniously diffuse light and sound, helping to complete the poetic atmosphere of the garden.
