The last great decade. STING goes 90’s
The TV shows, the independent cinemas, the crop tops. Grunge, Pop, Heavy Metal. The walkman, the first cds, the boombox. The icons which have shaped the 90’s into a decade split between great nostalgia and the technological race are now infusing the new STING sun collection. It’s an irreverent, colorful juxtaposition of references, a series of images which are vividly reminiscent of the most paradoxical decade of the 20th century.

The rounded shape and the slight metallic frame are a dead 90’s throwback, a reminder of some of the most iconic tv characters of the time. The peculiar procedure put into place to obtain the fantastically variable color on the frame – a series of wrappers are applied to the frame and then briefly cooked – make it a fun, flirty new style.

Sting best selling style is a panto shape with a light plastic frame. A cult, classic frame which is made new by colored mirrored lenses and by the color combinations on the front, an ironic throwback to the original horn-rimmed 40’s version.

This is a masculine, directional style, which expertly blends the über-stylish wooden effect and the neon color trends. The bold colors are an effective way to defuse any stuffy reference to plush materials.
