On the occasion of Expo and the Water Festival, the appointment with the design theme of water will arrive in Milan from 2 to 11 October It is presented today, June 25, in the Design Library, the fifth edition of Water Design: The heart of the event is the Castello Sforzesco, where in October there is an influx of over 100,000 people. In the early days of October, in the beautiful setting of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan and in the best showroom in the city, will stage the fifth edition of Water Design, festival that celebrates design dedicated to water. The event created by Moscow Partners was transferred from Bologna to Milan for Expo 2015 and the Water Festival, the biennial event created to promote and discuss the major issues related to the availability, distribution and proper use of water . The combination of Water Design with two events will provide an extraordinary number of visitors, which already today the Castle is quadrupled compared to previous months at Expo, and that at present is estimated at more than 100,000 visitors during the days of October, the month statistically the most crowded of the Universal. As per tradition, Water Design into the heart of the city projects and installations of the best international designers and architects, and it opens the doors of the showrooms of the major companies in the sector, with the intent to promote and communicate the design to an increasingly expanded professionals, practitioners and enthusiasts. "An event that allows all citizens to rediscover in the name of innovation and creativity of the relationship between design and the most valuable elements, the water" so the Councillor for Employment, Fashion and Design Cristina Tajani who continues: "Ten days, starting from the Castle to the showrooms involved, illustrate languages and creative thoughts that can turn into products and new brand combining research, quality, innovation and tradition. An opportunity that confirms, once again, as she's alive in operators around the world the desire to choose Milan as the best showcase to present their creations and insights. " The parade ground, the main courtyard of the Castello Sforzesco, will host the important Festival of Water, while the Cortile della Rocchetta and the Ducal Court will be the setting for installations of Water Design 2015, and host, respectively, the two themes of investigation this edition. The first, the water as well as to protect the waste for a more conscious and sustainable and, second, water as a source of well-being for body and mind. Two important topics that invite reflection on the theme of water as a source of life and we need to reduce waste, but also the value of the project as an act qualifying to give quality to the space built: a symbolic message content rich to stimulate the public to reflect on the value of what is around us from the point of view of the natural world is of the artificial. The beautiful Ducal Court, with its large central pool, the garden and the porch in the background, see spontaneously and almost natural in a situation of relaxation and pleasure of body and mind, it will be here that Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel will realize their installation: an intervention project which will tell the ratio of water and well-being, a contemporary interpretation to be able to dialogue with the architecture of the past. The Rocchetta courtyard will be dedicated to the theme of living and everyday life, emphasizing the importance of water as a source of life and a resource to be protected. Three different housing suggestions, made by Piero Lissoni, Ferruccio Laviani and Patricia Urquiola, will sensitize the public showing through as an alternative way of thinking, design and build the living space, you can not waste the water we consume every day. The three installations, will be related with each other through a large garden, capable of regenerating the waste water, thus avoiding the waste and recovering over 70% of the water used. The garden will be designed by the garden designer Stefano Baccari. The facilities of the Castle will be an opportunity to deepen the stimuli received and begin to explore the way in cities across the showroom of the best companies in the industry where every day of the event will be able to discover and touch the products and objects of design, innovation and research related to the theme of water. In the evening hours, during the ten-day event, it will come to life even a full program of events and meetings, shows and projections that involve all the places of the event. In the showroom of the districts of Brera and Durini / Monforte especially, it will coordinate the activities in order to avoid overlapping of events and distribute in two weekends planned initiatives. Among the events of great interest, together with lectures by Philippe Daverio and Patricia Urquiola, we are pleased to announce the re-release of the exhibition 'Aesthetics of poverty' by Michele De Lucchi and Andrea Branzi in collaboration with Oikos, color and material for the ' architecture. The exhibition and 'the result of the workshop made by the Faculty of Design at the Politecnico di Milano, under the supervision of Francesca Whale Arista and Marco De Santi. Also the collaboration with Milan Design Film Festival is up, for the exclusive preview screening (the film festival will begin, in fact, the next week, October 15 to 18) of a film dedicated to the theme of water.
