Marco van Basten: Juventus can win UEFA Champions League Final

In the lead up to the UEFA Champions League Final on 6th June, Nissan Ambassador Marco van Basten has shared his expert thoughts and predictions for the big game.

Ahead of the UEFA Champions League Final in Berlin, where Nissan have put electric vehicles at its heart with a range of activations, from supplying over 100 electric cars and installing 129 charging points to fan activities that will create energy to power the Trophy Van and the UEFA Champions League trophy to the Olympiastadion on 6thy June, Nissan ambassador Marco van Basten has claimed that Juventus have what it takes to claim the title against the odds.

Speaking to Nissan, the official automotive partner of the UEFA Champions League, Marco explained:

"Juve did it against Real Madrid in the semifinals so they've proved they can beat the biggest teams."

However, the Dutch legend has acknowledged that Juventus' biggest challenge will be stopping the incomparable Lionel Messi:

"Messi is one of the alltime greats for sure. He plays in a very good team and Barcelona have been the team to beat for the last ten years. He's the special one, the cherry on the cake for that team. He's wonderful to watch and he always makes a difference"

Marco thinks that if they're organised and supported by their most experienced players, Juventus have the tools to deal with the Argentine:

"Patrice Evra is a very experienced defender for Juventus though and I think he needs to stay very close to Messi throughout to make things difficult for him. Messi can be stopped. It's not impossible. If you have to play against good organised defending it will always be difficult."

As a double winner himself, Marco even shared his prediction of exactly what will happen in Berlin on the 6th June:

"OK, if I'm feeling brave, I'm going to go for 22 after extra time. And then, and I'm not just saying this because I'm half Italian, I do think Juventus will win on penalties"

On Nissan's activities at the final, van Basten added: "Their focus is really on great interaction which is fantastic for the fans."
