Across the finish line,
Hublot scores a touchdown for charity!

Luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot joins together with Best Buddies and Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady to support this weekend’s Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port event. The annual walk, run and biking fundraiser raises money for Best Buddies International, a volunteer program that creates friendship and employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. On May 29, Hublot kicked off the Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port two-day event with a football game at Harvard Field, where New England Patriots Quarterback, Super Bowl MVP, and Best Buddies Global Ambassador Tom Brady served as quarterback for both teams in his first media appearance since the Super Bowl. The stadium welcomed thousands of fans to watch the game, featuring TEAM Hublot, as supporters and sponsors of Best Buddies coached the game from the sidelines. Attendees included New England Patriot Julian Edelman, Congressman Joseph Kennedy III, Dane Cook and more. During halftime, Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe, Hublot JV President Rick de La Croix, and Hublot Managing Director Jean-Francois Sberro, joined Best Buddies Founder Anthony Shriver, Tom Brady, and professional cyclists George Hincapie and Christian Venda Velde, to unveil the innovative Hublot Best Buddies Cycling timepiece – the Classic Fusion Chrono Aero Carbon. This 100-piece, limited edition and ultra-lightweight watch is made completely of carbon fiber, designed for cyclists, with a portion of proceeds benefitting the organization. The Best Buddies logo, illustrated by iconic “graffiti” artist Keith Haring, is printed on the case-back and is reflected in the red stitching on the strap and the colorful ticks on the dial. The chronograph function allows a cyclist to time a race with the push of a fingertip. It is a timepiece that perfectly complements the sport of cycling. Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, shared: “Hublot is honored to partner with Best Buddies, and to support this great cause that makes such a significant impact in serving those in need across the United States. Similar to the Shriver family, Hublot has a long history of serving our local communities. We are proud to join Anthony Shriver, Tom Brady, and cyclists George Hincapie and Christian Vande Velde to kick off the Best Buddies Challenge, and to announce the launch of our Classic Fusion ‘Best Buddies’ timepiece, for which Hublot will donate a portion of proceeds from all sales to the Best Buddies organization.” Tom Brady shared: “Tonight is one of the highlights of my year. This football night here at Harvard has become a really unique event...It’s all about the Buddies...Friendship is an important part of all of our lives - especially when you’re going through challenging times it’s great to have as many friends as you possibly can. To support the Buddies in the network that Anthony [Shriver] has worked so hard to create over the years is really spectacular.” Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Founder and Chairman of Best Buddies International, shared: “Best Buddies is extremely honored that Hublot has made a commitment to help improve the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with the launch of the Classic Fusion ‘Best Buddies’ timepiece, for which a portion of the proceeds from all sales will benefit Best Buddies. It is my sincere hope that Hublot's dedication to Best Buddies and our mission of social inclusion and friendship will inspire other global companies to follow suit, and commit to serve, as well.” Following the playful game of football, top VIPs headed to the Gordon Indoor Track facility at Harvard University for the Guy Fieri Celebrity Chef Tailgate Party, where Chef Guy Fieri and Best Buddies Jobs participants worked as sous chefs to prepare gourmet, mouth-watering culinary creations. The reception concluded with an award-winning ceremony hosted by Anthony Shriver, Congressman Kennedy, Tom Brady and Guy Fieri, to auction the very first Classic Fusion Chrono Aero Carbon for the benefit of Best Buddies. The event will continue on Saturday, May 30, as hundreds of cyclists, led by cycling legends George Hincapie and Christian Veda Veld, will take to the starting line for Team Hublot at Boston’s John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum for the picturesque 100-mile ride portion of the Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port. Hublot will serve as the Official Timekeeper of the world-class bike ride, which moves southeast from various start lines, all finishing at the Craigville Beach on Cape Cod. Race participants will wear Hublot branded bibs and will be able to track their individual race times through chip timing company Race Wire. Open to all ages and athletic abilities, the Challenge has the energy of a big family gathering as program participants and supporters bike, run or walk side-by-side with celebrities, professional athletes and notable guests including Tom Brady and Julian Edelman. The event route provides various course backdrops as it progresses from Boston through serene state parks, quaint Cape Cod villages, the Kennedy Compound in Hyannis Port and concluding at the Craigville Beach. Following the Challenge, key supporters and fellow sponsors will join Ricardo Guadalupe, Rick de la Croix, Tom Brady and Anthony Shriver for an intimate luncheon presented by Hublot on the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port. Later that afternoon, event guests and participants will enjoy live music and a gourmet clambake at the Craigville Beach on Cape Cod. An intimate post-event wrap party for VIP guests at the Shriver home on the Kennedy compound will conclude the festivities with a celebratory toast to another successful Challenge! "I have always been a huge fan of the Hublot brand and I’m excited to be an official Ambassador of the Best Buddies Hublot cycling timepiece that will benefit the Best Buddies organization and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities around the world,” said American retired professional cyclist George Hincapie. “I am humbled to serve as an Ambassador of the Best Buddies Hublot cycling timepiece. Best Buddies and Hublot are two amazing entities working together for the greater good of people with special needs and I could not be more honored to be a part of this mission,” said Belgian professional cyclist Christian Vande Velde.
