Pramac Racing - Francesco Guidotti: "What an amazing battle between Yonny and Petrux!"

It has been a weekend which will long be remembered. On the circuit of Jerez de la Frontera Pramac Racing has become the protagonist of amazing highlights. In Saturday's qualifying Yonny Hernandez and Danilo Petrucci managed to hit a fantastic double win in Q1 with the Comobian rider able to gain the Top 10 after the Q2. And the day after, in front of nearly 250,000 spectators, they have lighted the Spanish Grand Prix with a thrilling duel that saw them fight almost from start to the end with overtaking and also spectacular contacts. The hug in the pit box at the end of the race sanctioned, if ever proof were needed, the cohesion of the team. "Seeing our riders conquer the Q1 was exciting because the risk was double – Francesco Guidotti, Pramac Racing Team Manager, said - but if I have to tell the truth I would be much happier to see them both qualified directly to Q2. Because we could make better use of FP4 also for the race. And then we would save a set of soft tires for qualifying".

“After the Flag” (www.motogp.com) has dedicated an extensive report to the battle between Yonny and Petrux showing spectacular images of their duel.

"They are awesome images which highlight the skills of our riders: a highly dramatic overtaking as we do not see many, but very clean at the same time. Yonny and Danilo have created a real show in the show and they were extremely correct overtaking where there was room enough to enter. They even touched themselves but there has been no action to limit. Obviously we are talking about professional riders because what they did in Jerez is something impossible for all of us. It would have been nice to see a bit more of that battle even on TV as in the front there wasn’t so much battle and emotions were concentrated in the duel which also involved Vinales ".

And after the battle on the track, the hug in the pits box... "This is the spirit of the competition. And this makes us realize that the choice of the riders was the right one”. The weekend in Jerez also had the appendix of the test. An opportunity to work for Le Mans. "If there are no new solutions to try the focus is on the problems we faced in the weekend. We know that the performance of our rear tire becomes critical after half race. That's why we use the test to see whether the choices made in terms of setting, suspension and chassis have been the right ones. The one in Jerez was a race of great suffering but at the end the result satisfies us. Yonny is back in the Top 10 after two unlucky races, Danilo is continuing his good streak going beyond expectations". Next stop Le Mans. "A circuit with a lot of stop and go. It is not a particularly demanding track but the factors are many, from the meteorological to the Bridgestone’s choice of tires. Of course we go to France to try to improve, both in qualifying and the race. "
