This weekend, Lance Stroll made his debut in the European FIA Formula 3 Championship at Silverstone circuit. The season curtain-raiser featured no less than 35 drivers. The Canadian Ferrari Driver Academy student came away with a sixth and a fourth place from the first two of three races.
“In Race 1, the conditions were very tricky, because of the damp track,” commented Lance. “At the start, I tried not to make any mistakes and from eighth on the grid, I managed to finish sixth. In the second race, I started seventh and by the end of the first lap, I’d moved up to fourth. I was running at a good pace, but I never had a real chance to try and attack the third placed car. Unfortunately, the Silverstone round didn’t go as I’d have wished, because in the third and final race of the weekend, having made a poor start, I ended up spinning at Turn 7. Definitely a mistake not to be repeated, even if, overall, my first Formula 3 weekend was still fairly positive.”
