Team GO&FUN Honda Gresini rider Alvaro Bautista took a hard fought seventh place in today’s Grand Prix of Aragon, battling with determination both in the first part of the race, held on dry asphalt, and also after the arrival of the rain and the consequent change of the bike in the pit lane as per 'flag to flag' regulation.
In trouble during practice and qualifying, Bautista just missed the top five today, crossing the finish line less than 0.3 seconds behind Bradley Smith and Pol Espargarò’s Yamahas, despite a vibration problem with the brakes that slowed him down after he climbed on the second bike for wet conditions.
His teammate, Scott Redding, got a good tenth place, picking up important points for the championship: the English rookie crossed the finish line behind the other two Honda RCV1000R of Hiroshi Aoyama and Nicky Hayden, but nevertheless he managed well his first 'flag to flag' with a transition from the dry to the wet.
