Podium for Mattias Ekström in German World Rallycross Championship round
Mattias Ekström in Audi S1 EKS was short of taking his second victory in the World Rallycross Championship by a mere five thousandths of a second. In a spectacular photo finish, the DTM star in the finale of the supercars only had to admit defeat to World Championship front runner Petter Solberg.
Pontus Tidemand in fourth place completed the strong showing by the EKS team at the Estering. While for Ekström the next DTM race is on the agenda at Zandvoort next weekend, his privateer rallycross team will be traveling directly to the next World Championship round in Italy...
