Trofeo Abarth Selenia Europe and National ACI / CSAI Abarth Selenia Trophy Italy, Race 2 at Mugello: Campani brothers dominate the highest steps of the rostrum

• Alex Campani won Race 2, followed by his brother Maurizio and Swedish frontrunner Niklas Lilja

• The Trofeo Abarth Selenia Europe and Italy rankings remain unchanged: Lilja is first in both charts

• Cimarelli strikes again among the 500 Abarth Assetto Corse. Pajuranta is second and Villa third

• Next event in Varano de’ Melegari (Parma, Italy) on September 6th and 7th

Young Italian driver Alex Campani (Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione) won the second race held at the Mugello race track, in Tuscany, valid for the Trofeo Abarth Selenia Europe and the Abarth ACI / CSAI Selenia Trophy Italy, ahead of his brother Maurice and Swede hero Niklas Lilja.

Lilja keeps the first place in both leagues’ classifications; Alex Campani, second overall, reduces a little bit the gap from the leader.

After the terrific clouds of the morning, the race started under the sun. Since the green light, the fight between Emanuele Moncini and poleman Niklas Lilja has been more than ferocious, with the Campani brothers who managed to keep the third (Alex) and fourth position (Maurizio).

After three laps Moncini took the lead, while Lilja and Maurizio Campani lost some positions. Alex was firmly second, while the battle for the third place starring Lilja, Anselmi and Buffoli.

Alex Campani and Lilja passed then Moncini, while Anselmi entered the struggle for leadership. Two laps from the end, however, Anselmi went out of the track. In the meantime Maurizio Campani conquered the second place overall, with Lilja that finished third.
