The new e-THP130 turbocharged petrol engine, the latest addition to the PureTech family, powers the Citroën C4 into the limelight
The PureTech engines, a new family of 3-cylinder petrol engines designed and produced in France, feature innovative, efficient and economical technologies. The normally-aspirated versions launched in 2012 (68 bhp 1 litre and 82 bhp 1.2 litre) are significantly more powerful than the previous generations and consume up to 25% less fuel.
The PureTech family is growing in 2014 with the arrival of a turbocharged version, the e-THP130, the first PSA PEUGEOT CITROËN Group petrol engine to comply with the Euro6 standard. Consistent with its “Créative Technologie” philosophy, the CITROËN brand is innovating and moving into a new era by fitting the e-THP130 on the CITROËN C4. The new powertrain, boasting generous torque from low engine speeds and a broad operating range, takes petrol-powered driving pleasure to a new level and invests the CITROËN C4 with verve and vitality. The technologies used on the new engine provide remarkable performance while reducing CO2 emissions to among the lowest in the class.
