Catellani & Smith launches Lederam at Fuorisalone 2013

I would never have thought that technology could compete with nature! I must change my mind looking at the strange ‘total eclipse’ manufactured by Enzo Catellani using a small microchip – a LED. If I close my eyes the effect is the same and, even emotionally, this light is able to produce the same feeling as if I were looking at the moon. It is a collection realized to save energy. It offers LED technology at mains voltage without the need for a transformer and is also dimmable. It is a 17 W LED module with an output of 1,300 lumen, which corresponds to approximately 80 W of the old linear halogen lamp. Using several modules, 5,000 lumens can be achieved, which is equivalent to approximately 250 W of the old halogens. These LEDs have a life of approximately of 30,000 hours and can be replaced. Therefore, in addition to having a long life and achieving savings in energy, they also have lower maintenance costs.
