2024 Boat of the Year announcement

Cruising World magazine announced on December 6th, 203 the winners of its 2024 Boat of the Year competition.

Cruising World presented awards to winning boats in seven categories. In ideal conditions on Chesapeake Bay, the well-rounded fleet of 19 contestants vied for top honors in the 2024 competition.

This year's entries hailed from ten different nations: China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, South Africa, Slovenia, Sweden, and Vietnam.

We are very proud to announce that the Dragonfly 40 was awarded as winner in the Best Performance Trimaran category.

The 2024 Boat of the Year contest will be featured in full in a 20-page special report in the January/February 2024 issue of Cruising World.

About Boat of the Year

Cruising World's annual Boat of the Year competition is the recognized leader in inspecting, testing and rewarding the best sailboats introduced into the US market by boatbuilders the world over. Judging and testing for this year's awards took place during and after the Annapolis Sailboat Show in Annapolis, Maryland, in October 2023. Over the course of nearly two weeks around the Annapolis Sail Show, sailboats receiving nominations were adjudicated by an independent panel of marine experts who, as a team, evaluated each vessel in two stages: dockside during the show, and then in dedicated sea trials. The judges awarded winners across seven categories in this year's competition.
