Young team, long history - visit us at Monaco Yacht Show
Introduction
Welcome to a new season of newsletters from #mulderdesign. It's been long since we regularly communicated with our friends and followers. Here's the first of our regular updates on what's happening at #mulderdesign.
Future editions will mix the latest news with items taking a deeper dive into specific #design aspects and technological areas. For now, we start with a look at the upcoming #monaco show and talk to Bas Mulder about life at the helm of our family business. Our third article looks forward to a milestone #anniversary for #mulderdesign – founded by Frank Mulder in 1979 – and its ability to offer exterior styling, naval architecture and engineering while covering the full range of services from initial concept #design to final sea trials.
The year starts in Monaco
Since its launch in 1991, the #monaco #yacht Show has become a truly immersive experience for all involved in the yachting world. From Wednesday 27 to Saturday 30 September, most of the #mulderdesign team will be in the famous Principality to embrace the unique blend of business and social life offered by this iconic event. Meet the skipper: Second generation Mulder at the helm
A key factor in the Netherlands becoming a leading light leader in the #superyacht world has been that many of its yards, naval architects and equipment suppliers started out as family firms. #mulderdesign is no exception, having been founded by Frank Mulder almost 45 years ago. After gaining his Naval Architecture degree from the same prestigious university as his father, Bas Mulder joined the company in 2000 and the two worked in close partnership until Frank's recent retirement. How does it feel to now be at the helm?
Proven in practice: 45th #anniversary on the horizon
Around 15 kilometres of #yacht spread across some 200 plus designs and naval architecture projects, on top of that a wealth of work has been carried out in the engineering sphere, it's safe to say that our approach has been proven in practice. As one of the world's leading independent studios, #mulderdesign has a rich history since its foundation by Frank Mulder in 1979. With our 45th #anniversary coming up next year, we can reflect on decades of serving a global client base and the key values driving us forward into the future.
