and exquisite #brabus MASTERPIECE interior

BRABUS XLP: When a supercar carries this label, #automotive connoisseurs know that it represents a particularly exclusive high-performance pickup based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63.

In the new BRABUS XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK, BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone +49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, Internet www.brabus.com) now presents an exclusive all-terrain vehicle the world has never seen before.

The BRABUS XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK is based on the current G-Class and mesmerizes with its pickup bed behind the cab. What is more: As the 6x6 model designation indicates, the new supercar has an additional rear axle and thus runs on six wheels. Obviously, with all-wheel drive!

The #brabus 6x6 supercar is 6.18 meters (243.3 in) long and 2.09 meters (82.3 in) wide. It is powered by a very special power plant that can be seen through the transparent pane of the #brabus "Powerview" hood cowl: The #brabus ROCKET 900 V8 twin-turbo engine with a displacement of 4.5 liters (269 cu in). In addition to many other features, this engine is fitted with two special high-performance turbochargers. It produces an output of 662 kW / 900 hp (888 bhp) and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) peak torque, which is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) in the vehicle.

In concert with the nine-speed transmission and six-wheel drive, this engine slings the BRABUS XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h (130 mph).

However, the new #brabus high-performance pickup impresses not only with its tremendously powerful engine, but also with its exceptional qualities when operating far off paved roads.

The 6x6 was equipped with a longer ladder frame for its pickup body. This creates space for the pickup bed and also accommodates the second rear axle. The vehicle is equipped with portal axles developed specifically for the XLP, which were designed as independent suspensions on the two rear axles as well. As a result, the ground clearance increases to enormous 47.3 centimeters (18.6 in), much larger than that of the vehicle on which it is based. In addition, this design concept enables much greater articulation of the wheel suspensions, which further optimizes the off-road capabilities.

The #brabus XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK runs on six forged #brabus Monoblock HD wheels with all-terrain tires of size 325/55 R 22 on all axles.

The name "SUPERBLACK" reflects not only the vehicle body, which is painted high-gloss black and complemented by sporty exposed-carbon elements, but also the exclusive #brabus MASTERPIECE interior, where the finest "Mondial Black" leather rules. It is augmented with gray piping and sporty carbon elements.

The #brabus XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK pictured here sells for 1,186,000 euros (export price in Germany excluding statutory VAT).

Ever since it was founded in 1977, the #brabus brand has stood for high-performance automobiles and professional #automotive tuning. The portfolio was expanded in 2020.to include the development and production of exclusive, custom car bodies Since then, the #brabus XLP high-performance pickups based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63 have been not only been eye-catchers par #excellence, but have also enhanced the exclusive vehicle fleets of #automotive connoisseurs all over the world.

With the BRABUS XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK, the luxury manufactory from Bottrop now elevates this model series to new and even more exclusive heights as part of the 'Monochrome Design' series: "XLP" and "6x6". In order to combine these two terms in one fascinating supercar, the engineers, technicians and designers of #brabus, which holds the status of vehicle manufacturer in the eyes of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, developed a compelling concept, which was turned with utmost professionalism into one of the most spectacular vehicles of superior quality on the market.

The #brabus steel module for the chassis was developed with the aid of state-of-the-art design and simulation software. It is engineered to fully retain the high torsional rigidity of the stock frame. In place of the production rear axle, this massive new component accommodates two further #brabus custom developments – the two rear axles. They were designed as independent suspensions and like the front suspensions utilize the portal axle concept.

To this end, #brabus designed special hub carriers with integral portal gearbox, which increase the ground clearance to 47.3 centimeters (18.6 in), much larger than that of the standard chassis. The components required for this are milled from solid pieces of high-strength aluminum. This includes the hub carriers, all control arms, a new integral subframe for the independent suspension of the portal axle at the front, as well as the axle housings of the two new rear axles.

In line with this custom design, the #brabus chassis engineers together with technology partner KW devised a titanium-coated special chassis made from aluminum. It is not only extremely robust, but also meticulously calibrated to the weight, the high center of gravity, and the six-wheel design. The damping rate can be adjusted from within the cockpit.

The cab with new rear wall and heated window is bolted onto the lengthened frame. Behind it is the likewise custom pickup bed, which features tailor-made trim with exposed-carbon elements and thereby visually stretches the cab toward the rear. It had to be made longer due to the tandem rear axles and thus offers even more usable space for cargo.

The BRABUS carbon production shop manufactured new bedsides with integral storage boxes for the XLP 6x6. The appropriate, robust pickup bed was made from sheet steel. It features a soft-teak bedliner with two #brabus logos and airline-type rails for tying down cargo. The side-swing tailgate also is made from steel. This material mix gives the pickup bed maximum strength and load capacity while ensuring a perfect fit. In order to complete the pickup look, a dual roll bar sits on the bed. It is coated matte black, of course, and features two powerful, rear-facing LED lights that facilitate loading and unloading the pickup bed in the dark.

The extravagant #brabus pickup design obviously also includes six tailor-made wheels. They were custom-designed for the eight-lug bolt pattern of the portal axles and are produced using cutting-edge forging and machining technology. With their eight massive spokes, the #brabus Monoblock HD alloys, which were painted black for this supercar of the 'Monochrome Design' series, easily withstand the high wheel loads that are generated especially in off-road operations. They are mounted under the broad flares with exposed-carbon extensions of the BRABUS XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK in size 9.5Jx22 on all axles. #brabus selected all-terrain tires of size 325/55 R 22 as the optimal equipment.

The outstanding off-road capabilities go hand in hand with a thrilling design in best off-road fashion. The fascination of the BRABUS XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK lies not only in its pickup body and custom chassis with six wheels, but also in the use of carbon with visible structure and high-gloss sealed surface finish. The front view is dominated by the #brabus fascia, which was derived from the WIDESTAR widebody version for the current G-Class. Two large air intakes framed by exposed-carbon inserts supply the radiators in the bow and the front brakes with cooling air. In addition, the #brabus front-end component integrates a robust brush guard and a winch with a line pull of 4,500 kilograms (9,920 lbs.). The face of the supercar is furthermore characterized by the carbon radiator grille and the extra-wide fender flares with carbon extensions.

The #brabus Powerview hood also is made from this hi-tech composite material, at least for the most part. It features a transparent pane that provides a glimpse of the powerful heart beating in this pickup. The #brabus wind deflector above the windshield sports an equally unusual styling. Thanks to its sophisticated shape, this carbon component routes the airflow over the roof rack. Moreover, it houses three light modules equipped with powerful LEDs that turn night into day at the touch of a button.

The sides are marked by the wide flares and their exposed-carbon extensions, as well as by the carbon-fiber trim behind the wheel arches. The same material was chosen for the rub strips and the exterior mirror caps.

The running boards were adapted to the longer wheelbase and facilitate getting in and out of the vehicle at the considerable step-in height it has. In addition, there are power-retractable steps. At night, LED lights integrated into the fender flares illuminate the running boards and thus provide enhanced safety. The vehicle is also equipped with underbody lights that light up the ground next to the vehicle. Further practical #brabus features that make it easier for the passengers to access the rear bench seat are special door hinges, which increase the opening angle to 90 degrees.

The rear end of the vehicle also sports thrilling #brabus design: The WIDESTAR fascia with carbon skid plate integrates perfectly with the flares at the left and right. An exposed-carbon panel with embossed #brabus logo on the tailgate demonstrates the high-class origin of this supercar, as do the door and tailgate handles with recessed #brabus logo.

As already stated, a look through the transparent pane in the hood cowl also reveals the provenance of this car: The engine cover is made from red carbon and shows a BRABUS 900 logo, which tells insiders that a very special power plant is at work here, whose construction in the hi-tech engine shop of the luxury manufactory from Bottrop required complex precision work.

The formula for this engine has decades of tradition at #brabus: more displacement produces more power! In order to convert the V8 engine of the G 63 to BRABUS ROCKET 900 V8 Biturbo specification, it is first completely disassembled and then profoundly modified. The cylinder bore is enlarged to 84 millimeters (3.3 in) with the aid of the hi-tech, in-house machinery. The cylinders are fitted with custom forged pistons that have a modified profile for optimized combustion. Forged and precision-balanced, high-performance connecting rods link them to a precision-balanced crankshaft, which was milled from a solid piece of material and has a stroke lengthened to exactly 100 millimeters (3.9 in). These measures increase the displacement from stock 3,982 cc to 4,407 cc (243 to 269 cu in).

But that alone would not be enough to achieve the target of increasing the output by 231 kW / 315 hp (310 bhp) over the production engine. The newly designed forced induction system also plays a crucial role in this: Two #brabus special turbochargers with larger compressor unit and custom core assembly with reinforced axial bearing produce a maximum boost pressure of 1.4 bar, which is also accompanied acoustically by two #brabus BoostXtra adapters. They produce a thrilling blow-off noise when the driver lifts off the gas.

Because an engine as powerful as this also needs more air to breathe, a ram-air intake system was integrated into the exposed-carbon radiator grille. Special high-pressure pumps increase the fuel supply appropriately.

Larger downpipes with a diameter of 76 millimeters (3 in) and special particulate filters and metal catalysts are also part of this BRABUS ROCKET 900 increased-displacement engine. The final link in the chain is the #brabus stainless high-performance exhaust system. It was adapted specifically to the longer wheelbase of the 6x6 and features actively controlled butterfly valves for varying the exhaust note. "Sport" mode produces a particularly powerful V8 sound. But this exhaust system can also do a subtle whisper in "Coming Home" mode. As has been a hallmark feature of the #brabus sports exhaust systems for the G-Class for decades, this pickup features two side-exiting tailpipes in front of the rear wheels on both sides of the vehicle. They are framed by a sporty exposed-carbon surround with integrated red ROCKET Launch Ambience Light.

The perfect interplay of all high-performance components is ensured by new maps for the electronic engine controls. The #brabus power unit engineers and electronics specialists programmed the maps in the course of extensive bench tests and test drives. This guarantees optimal power delivery and flawless durability. #brabus recommends high-performance lubricants from MOTUL for the entire powertrain.

The enormous effort involved in the development and production of this high-end engine is reflected in unrivalled performance: An output of 662 kW / 900 hp (888 bhp) at a low 6,200 rpm is just as much a benchmark for a pickup as is the massive peak torque of 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft), which is already on tap at 2,900 rpm. This figure is electronically limited to 1,050 Nm (774 lb-ft) in the vehicle.

With this power unit in the bow, the BRABUS XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK delivers a driving performance one would hardly expect of a vehicle in this category: From rest, the supercar accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.2 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 210 km/h (130 mph) due to the heavy vehicle weight.

The people on board enjoy this sheer force on six wheels in an exquisite ambience created by the experienced, meticulous upholstery specialists of the #automotive refinement expert. In line with its SUPERBLACK label, the consummately crafted BRABUS MASTERPIECE interior is made from black leather and features a host of carbon applications.

The master upholsterers used especially soft and durable "Mondial Black" leather for the exceedingly accurately finished seats, door panels, roof pillars, dashboard, and center console. A prime example of the precision work is the triangular quilting applied with pinpoint precision to the seat surfaces and the entire footwell. Gray piping on the seat side bolsters provides an intriguing contrast, as do the 206 cockpit elements in all that were given a 'Shadow Gray" glaze finish. They range from the switches and speaker grilles to the air vents.

The 'Heritage Brand Pattern" with embossed "77" symbols is found on the leather of the visors and the pockets in the backs of the front seats. It commemorates the year 1977 when #brabus was founded. The headliner is made from black Dinamica microfiber and shows the passengers in the rear the current vehicle and engine speed of the supercar on two integrated round gauges.

Carbon elements with high-gloss sealed surface finish add decidedly sporty touches in the cockpit. They include the #brabus RACE paddle shifters on the steering wheel, which allow shifting the automatic transmission manually, and the grab handles in the interior. Also part of the pickup interior are carbon scuff plates with backlit #brabus logo that changes colors in sync with the ambient lighting, as well as aluminum pedal pads and door lock pins, which like the #brabus MASTERPIECE badges sport a 'Shadow Gray" glaze finish.

Fuel economy and CO2 emissions in accordance with WLTP:

BRABUS XLP 900 6x6 SUPERBLACK based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63: Combined fuel economy: 18.1 l/100 km (13 mpg); combined CO2 emissions: 420 g/km. Efficiency class G.
