The Pininfarina-designed hydrogen-powered SUV wins the Green Good Sustainability Design Award
Pininfarina has achieved remarkable success at the #green Good Design
Sustainability Awards 2023. Namx Huv, Akom, and B1 Digital Business Card projects have been named winners in the #green Transportation and #green Products categories, showcasing Pininfarina's commitment to sustainability.
The #green Good #design Sustainability Awards recognize and honor individuals, companies, organizations, governments, and institutions that contribute to a more sustainable world through their outstanding products, services, ideas, and concepts. Organized by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture
and #design in collaboration with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, #design, and Urban Studies, this prestigious international award highlights the importance of progress towards an eco-friendly future.
The jury commended Pininfarina's ability to #design innovative and sustainable solutions, thanks to their continuous research and multidisciplinary expertise. The award-winning projects demonstrate Pininfarina's focus on two key concepts: reducing environmental impact and developing a sustainable business model.
Namx Huv, a revolutionary hydrogen-powered SUV partially fueled by removable capsules, sets a new standard for carbon-free mobility. As the world's first vehicle partially run by a patented removable tank system, Namx Huv is poised to transform the landscape of sustainable mobility and facilitate widespread
availability of hydrogen fuel. #pininfarina collaborated with the DE LUSSAC #design studio to bring Namx Huv to life.
Akom, on the other hand, is a research project aimed at exploring the future of at-home coffee. #pininfarina approached sustainability from multiple angles for this project, focusing on material selection, maintenance processes, and capsule disposal. Akom seeks to recreate the traditional method of making espresso while ensuring long-term sustainability. Extensive research was conducted to study the interaction with espresso machines and deliver an authentic and environmentally responsible experience.
Furthermore, B1 Digital Business Card represents a sustainable evolution of the traditional business card.
Developed by #pininfarina in collaboration with #pininfarina Segno, this elegant and intelligent solution reduces paper consumption while preserving the environment. Additionally, the project supports the growth of the #pininfarina Segno forest, a collaborative initiative with Treedom, symbolizing Pininfarina's vision for the future.
