Two-day SBK test at Misano with Lucas Mahias
Just a few days after the conclusion of the fourth #worldsbk round at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit in Spain, #kawasakipuccettiracing returns to Italy to carry out a two-day test at the Misano World Circuit.
Now that Manuel Puccetti’s team and rider Tom Sykes have mutually agreed to go their separate ways, the technicians continue their incessant work to develop and fine-tune the ZX-10RR.
It is #lucasmahias who is tasked with testing the bike at Misano, a rider who has already competed for #kawasakipuccettiracing in the past, completing 52 races in #worldsbk scoring more than 100 points across two seasons, despite injuries that prevented him from expressing his full potential.
There is almost a month before the fifth #worldsbk round, which will play out at the same Misano track, with the name of the rider who will replace Sykes to be announced before then.
“I would first like to wish Tom Sykes all the best for the future. These Misano tests come at the right time as we want Mahias to test all the solutions that our technicians have been working on during this first part of the championship. We’re not happy with the results obtained until now of course, because they don’t reflect our team’s true potential, and so we’ll continue to give it our all to make our bike increasingly competitive. We’re carefully considering who will replace Sykes, and we will confirm who this is very soon.”
