Genesis gv70 receives J.D. Power Engineering Award for Highest-Rated All-New Vehicle
- For the second consecutive year, a Genesis model has earned a D. Power Engineering Award for Highest-Rated All-New Vehicle.
DETROIT, April 18, 2023 – Today, the Genesis GV70 received the J.D. Power Engineering Award for Highest-Rated All-New Vehicle for its quality and consumer appeal. This award, based on consumer evaluations of Initial Quality and Appeal, is presented to the engineering team responsible for the highest-rated new entry into the market for the 2022 model year. Since its introduction, GV70 has quickly become an important part of the Genesis product lineup and is known for its design, technologies, safety, and dynamic driving experience. This marks the second consecutive year that Genesis receives this honor from J.D. Power following GV80’s win for the 2021 model year.

GV70 is designed with a strong personality and a driver-centric interior. Every line, shape, and material have been carefully crafted resulting in a stunning design. Standard equipment includes all-wheel drive, a 14.5-inch HD multimedia display and a comprehensive suite of driver assistance and safety technologies, including Highway Driving Assist.
This award combines the results of the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study (IQS) which measures new-vehicle quality by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) as reported by consumers during the first 90 days of ownership; and the J.D. Power #automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, which measures new-vehicle owners' overall satisfaction with their vehicles within the first 90 days of ownership. The IQS score and the APEAL score of every new vehicle is calculated and compared to the average for vehicles in each segment (“Compact Premium SUV” for GV70). The two studies carry equal weight. The award is given to the vehicle that is furthest ahead of its segment average on the combined score and is presented to the vehicle introduced for the 2022 model year that is furthest ahead of its segment average for the combined score.
