Modern Matinees - Errol Flynn - Mar 1–May 3

Errol Flynn was a Hollywood star from the 1930s through the 1950s, known for playing dashing adventurers. This program covers the major years of his stardom, almost entirely in 35mm prints from the collections of #moma and the Library of Congress. 

MoMA Presents - The Residents' Triple Trouble - Mar 7 at 6:30 p.m. and on Virtual Cinema Mar 9–23

Shot in 10 days during the 2020 COVID lockdown, this hallucinatory noir comedy is the latest work from legendary art collective The Residents. Following its New York theatrical premiere on March 7, Triple Trouble will stream on Virtual Cinema March 9 through 23.

MoMA Presents - St. Clair Bourne's The Black and the Green - Mar 8–14

St. Clair Bourne created illuminating portraits of African American cultural figures and explored neglected or misunderstood aspects of African American society. MoMA's new digital 4K restoration of his 1983 documentary The Black and the Green is presented in its New York premiere.

MoMA Presents - Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio - Mar 8–15

A sweeping love letter to the craft of stop-motion animation, this encore presentation of Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio will be screened in MoMA's theaters in conjunction with the major exhibition Guillermo del Toro: Crafting Pinocchio (closing April 15). 

Modern Mondays - An Evening with Colectivo Los Ingrávidos - Mar 13 at 7:00 p.m.

Modern Mondays welcomes Colectivo Los Ingrávidos for a selection of short films from the prolific Mixtec group, whose work draws influence from Indigenous spirituality and traditions of political resistance.

Carte Blanche: Guillermo del Toro - Mar 16–26

In conjunction with the current exhibition Guillermo del Toro: Crafting Pinocchio, #moma invited Del Toro to select works that shaped him as a filmmaker. This series includes horror, fantasy, screwball comedy, noir, thrillers, drama, and animation from Sweden, Mexico, Japan, Italy, Britain, and America.

Modern Mondays - An Evening with #onyekaigwe - Mar 20 at 7:00 p.m.

London-based artist and filmmaker #onyekaigwe presents a screening in conjunction with her solo exhibition at #moma PS1, Onyeka Igwe: A Repertoire of Protest (No Dance, No Palaver).

New Directors/New Films 2023

Mark your calendars! The 52nd edition of New Directors/New Films, co-presented by #moma and #film at Lincoln Center, brings new work by emerging directors to the silver screen from March 29 to April 9. A complete lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.
