The jury is shortlisting the best entries
The judging for the 2023 #worldpressphoto #contest is underway and we’re thrilled to share the latest updates about what we've been up to.
Read on to find out more about the judging, as well as our upcoming exhibitions and events, including new dates worldwide for our ‘Resilience’ #show.
2023 #contest judging
The regional juries are currently shortlisting the best entries among the 60,448 images and open format entries submitted by 3,752 photographers from 127 countries.
After this, the global jury will come together in Amsterdam to decide on the 24 regional winners, and from those, the four global winners.
The 2023 #contest regional winners will be announced on 29 March, and the global winners on 20 April. Stay tuned!
For the first time this year, we’re excited to have the Asia jury judging live from Dhaka, Bangladesh, in collaboration with our regional partner Drik Picture Library! Meet the jury and find out more about the judging process.

The Exhibition 2023 tour will premiere on 22 April at De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Resilience: stories of women inspiring change
Our special exhibition Resilience is coming soon to a number of cities around the world!
The exhibition presents a selection of stories, awarded in the #worldpressphoto Contests from 2000 to 2021, that highlight the resilience and challenges of women, girls, and communities around the world.
