24MX ALESTREM : First victory for Wade Young and a 3rd place for Mario Roman!

The Alestrem Hard #enduro race this past weekend marked the launch of the new European Hard #enduro Championship (European Hard #enduro Challenge) which is composed of 5 events: 24 MX Alestrem (France), Extreme #enduro Lika (Croatia), Red Bull Abestone (Italy), Grefrees Granit Scramble (Germany) and Hixpania (Spain).

The race takes place over 2 days. An extreme special is raced to determine the 100 riders who will be participating in the prologue, which determines the starting order of the selective 3 lap course.

This 8th edition was won for the first time by our South African rider #wadeyoung.

As Jordan Curvalle, the ShercoTeam manager, points out, "it's never easy to ride at home. On this Alès'trêm we had strong competitors that included the 2022 HardEnduro world champion.

As expected the race was decided on the third lap, Wade and Lettenbichler were neck and neck from the start, and Wade took the lead and was able to hold it all the way to the finish in the second part of the last lap.

Wade Young had never won in Ales, this year he was really determined to win the #event after a 2022 season that was marred by injuries.

A great victory in front of a great files of competitors after 7h15m on the bike!"

Wade: "A great weekend overall for me. It felt good to battle with the guys in front both days. The final day ran smoothly riding with Manuel for most of the race. I managed to pull a gap towards the end of the 3rd lap and getting my first win at my European home race. A big thanks to my team for all the help and support I couldn't have done it without them!"

As for Mario Roman, he also had a good race. He had to start in the second line following a small problem during the prologue. But he managed to get back on the podium after a solid last lap. He was obviously disappointed, he had actually won the 2022 edition and was hoping for a repeat performance, but for the team it is a great reward to have both of our riders on the podium!

Mario : "It was a positive weekend for #sherco, and for us, both in the podium and putting again the number 1 on this race I believe is very good and super happy for Wade that fought very hard to finally win. For sure I would like to be in the batlle with them but unfortunately it was not possible."
