CASA SEAT to remain an active COVID vaccination point in Barcelona throughout 2023

  • When the vaccination process began, #seat S.A. made resources and personnel available to the #health authorities to speed up the public immunisation process
  • Since May 2021, #seat S.A. has administered more than 120,000 vaccinations
  • The company reaffirms its commitment to society and to #barcelona and will continue to provide CASA #seat as a vaccination point

CASA #seat will continue to be one of the fixed points for COVID-19 vaccination in #barcelona used by the Department of #health of the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2023.

The team at CASA #seat has been working non-stop since December 2021, providing a vaccination space to contribute to the immunisation of the general public. Today, it confirms that it will continue to do so in 2023, becoming one of the few remaining fixed points in #barcelona available to citizens who need to receive any of the vaccine doses.

With the onset of the pandemic, #seat S.A. made itself available to society to combat COVID-19, once again demonstrating its social commitment. When the long-awaited vaccine arrived, the company ceded its resources, both material and professional, to the public #health system to collaborate in the vaccination process and contribute to speeding up the immunisation of the greatest number of people in the shortest possible time. Since then, #seat S.A. has administered more than 120,000 vaccinations for people of all ages.

"I am very proud of #seat S.A.’s contribution to society. During one of the most difficult moments in our recent history we have collaborated to accelerate social and economic recovery” said Dr. Patricia Such, Director of #corporate Operations, #seat S.A.  “I want to highlight the role of Wayne Griffiths, President of #seat S.A., and the company’s entire Executive Committee, for promoting this initiative since the beginning. I´d also like to thank the team of professionals who have worked alongside me for what they have done and the entire CASA #seat team for turning the location into a key vaccination point in #barcelona."

Solidarity with society

SEAT S.A.'s started its fight against COVID-19 at the beginning of the crisis, when it manufactured #health resources to donate to hospitals experiencing shortages of resources like ventilators and masks. It was also the first company in Spain to carry out PCR tests on its employees to prevent transmission of the virus. Consequently, it managed to maintain activity with hardly any contagion within its facilities.

In February 2021, #seat S.A. reached an agreement with the Generalitat de Catalunya through which it offered its resources to support the public #health services. Following that agreement, in May of that year it began to immunise its workers and the employees of supplier companies. In addition, the company helped to deliver the vaccines to locations where the booster shot was most needed, using "motor homes" adapted for healthcare purposes.

In the summer, #seat S.A. extended its assistance to the Balearic Islands, joining forces with the local government to reinforce the immunisation process and contribute to their economic recovery.

With the arrival of the Omicron variant in late 2021, #seat S.A. resumed the vaccination campaign, and added CASA #seat as a fixed vaccination point. The central location (Paseo de Gracia, 109) and its easy access, make CASA #seat an ideal support centre for people to receive the vaccination. Vaccinations are available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 0900-1300 and can be booked by visiting https://vacunacovid.catsalut.gencat.cat.
