Out of the crisis – the current situation of the international wine sector
Each year #prowein taps into the knowledge of international wine industry experts. More than 2,400 businesses from more than 40 countries participated in the 2022 #prowein Business Survey. This year's focus was on the effect of the economic crisis on the different players across the supply chain of wine. How were wine producers, exporters, importers, retailers and gastronomy affected by the crisis so far and what are their expectations for 2023? What strategies do wine businesses implement to react to increasing costs, staff shortage and shifts in consumer demand? Which wine categories are expected to perform well? Will sales of low and dealcoholized wines increase further in the year to come? To increase the sustainability of the wine sector, which alternative wine packaging types have the highest chances to be accepted by producers, trade and consumers? Which international wine markets are most promising for 2023?
The 2022 #prowein Business Report to be released at the digital #prowein Media Summit on 31 January 2023 will provide answers to all these questions.
