Darren Almond unveils Crossrail Art commission in London

To mark the expansion of the Elizabeth line in West London, three artworks by British artist #darrenalmond have been permanently installed in Bond Street station as part of the Crossrail Art programme.

The artworks – Horizon Line, Shadow Line, and Time Line – are cast in bronze and aluminium in the same vernacular as the nameplates that historically used to adorn British steam trains. 

‘Before you’ve even physically begun a journey you are already thinking in a numerical language: the first question we all ask ourselves is, ‘What time is the train?’ So it seemed appropriate to mark the starting point of the journey with a work engaged in a similar language.’ — Darren Almond
