Bolzano/Bozen, 3rd October 2022. On Saturday 8 October 2022, on occasion of Giornata del Contemporaneo (Contemporary Art Day) – the large-scale event promoted by #amaci - Association of Italian #contemporaryart Museums, organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture's Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – #museion presents L’Istituto Centrale per il Restauro a #museion. Dialoghi sulla collezione (The Central Institute for Restauration at #museion. Dialogues on the collection), a meeting organised in collaboration with the Matera and Rome branches of the #scuola di Alta Formazione e Studio dell'Istituto Centrale per il Restauro (School of Higher Education and Study of the Central Institute for Restoration).

The event is the result of a collaboration between Museion and the School #scuola di Alta Formazione (School of Higher Education and Study - SAF)  e Studio dell'Istituto Centrale per il Restauro (Central Institute for Restoration – ICR) of the Ministry for Culture. Thanks to an agreement that began in 2019 and was recently renewed until 2027, #museion will become an on-site training ground for the school: the students, supervised by teachers, will check the state of conservation of some of the works in the collection, carrying out maintenance and restoration work where necessary.

Starting with practical examples of restorations carried out during the course of the project and the works from the #museion collection, the focus of reflections on both art history and conservation, the public will have the opportunity to dialogue with the students, professors and school representatives.

The reflections that start from the analyses of the execution techniques and conservation interventions on the artworks, will also highlight the art historical peculiarities of these works that have sometimes surfaced precisely because of the students' research and practice.

On this occasion, Idrologia, 1968 by the artist Emilio Villa will also be on display. This artwork, part of the #museion - Archivio di Nuova Scrittura collection, was the subject of an interesting and in-depth thesis by restorer Eleonora Cervelli, a former student of the #scuola di Alta Formazione e Studio in Rome.
