New York’s hottest club this fall? The Brooklyn Museum. It’s got everything

  1. Virgil Abloh: “Figures of Speech” is on view and “like Abloh,” said TIME, “the exhibit defies convention.” It features a wide-ranging selection of work from the visionary artist and designer that has reshaped how we understand the role of fashion, art, design, and music in our culture.

  2. The first-ever solo museum #show from the latest UOVO Prize-winning artist Oscar yi Hou, East of sun, west of moon opens October 14. Incorporating imagery from cowboy hats to Chinese calligraphy, yi Hou creates intimate portraits of himself and his community that mix symbols from all the worlds he occupies.

  3. Advance tickets are available now for Thierry Mugler: Couturissime, opening November 18. It’s the first retrospective to explore the fascinating, edgy universe of the French designer and creator of iconic perfumes. Pro tip: Add Virgil Abloh: “Figures of Speech to your cart and receive discount admission for both.

  4. Be among the first to see our newly reopened Arts of Asia and the Islamic World galleries after their ten-year renovation. This new presentation features nearly seven hundred objects representing the diversity and encyclopedic scope of our renowned collections, from Japanese guardian figures to Indian miniature paintings.

  5. As if that’s not enough, other exhibitions in full swing include Really Free: The Radical Art of Nellie Mae Rowe, Duke Riley’s DEATH TO THE LIVING, Long Live Trash, and Brooklyn Abstraction: Four Artists, Four Walls. There are also events and activities for everyone this month—just a few are listed below.
