On to the grand finale: A thrilling ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season comes to a close this weekend (13/14 August) in Seoul, where the all-electric #racing series is set to make its debut on a street circuit around and through the Olympic Stadium. Stoffel Vandoorne and the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team travel to South Korea as leaders in both World Championships. It is a historic weekend for a number of reasons: rounds 15 and 16 will mark the end of a fiercely contested season, and at the same time, Sunday’s grand finale is also the 100th E-Prix in the history of the #racing series and the last with the current Gen2 cars. It is also the last outing for the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team, which is retiring from Formula E #racing after three seasons. Start time for the two races on Saturday and Sunday is 08:04 BST.

Raffaele Marciello takes the lead in the #adacgtmasters drivers’ standings: The fourth of seven #adacgtmasters race weekends was contested on the short configuration of the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit last weekend. After mixed fortunes at the Red Bull Ring and at Zandvoort, the #mercedesamgcustomerracingteams were back in contention again. Saturday went exceptionally well for #raffaelemarciello (SUI) and his new co-driver Maro Engel (GER) in the number 48 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of MANN-FILTER Team LANDGRAF as they cruised to a lights-to-flag victory. On Sunday, they again led the field from pole position for a long time but lost a position due to a dubious penalty and eventually finished second. The direct beneficiaries were Jules Gounon (FRA) and Fabian Schiller (GER) in the number 4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Drago #racing Team ZVO, who had already scored a creditable third place the day before. These two excellent results have lifted #raffaelemarciello to the top of the Drivers’ Standings. He travels to the next event at the Lausitzring in a fortnight leading Gounon and Schiller by a margin of 16 points.

First and second place for Schnitzelalm #racing in the #adacgt4germany series: Sharing the billing at the Nürburgring was the #adacgt4germany. Marek Böckmann and Marcel Marchewicz (GER) in the #18 Schnitzelalm #racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 enjoyed an almost perfect race weekend. After a P2 finish in Saturday’s one-hour race, the German duo went one better on Sunday to record their first win of the season. In total, the Customer #racing teams contributed ten Top Ten finishes over the weekend.

Gratifying weekend for the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the USA: The tenth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship was hosted by the iconic Road America circuit in the US state of Wisconsin this weekend. In a race lasting two hours and 40 minutes, the WINWARD #racing duo of Philip Ellis (SUI) and Russell Ward (USA) in the #57 Mercedes-AMG GT3 secured their first win of the campaign in the GTD classification.

The four-hour #imsamichelinpilotchallenge race took place on Saturday. Eric Foss and Kenton Koch (both USA) in the #56 Mercedes-AMG GT4 of Murillo #racing took overall victory. Gary Ferrera and Kris Wilson (both USA) in the number 11 car of Capstone Motorsports meanwhile celebrated victory in the GS Bronze class.

There was also action in the GT America last weekend, this time on the characterful Nashville Street Circuit. In the two 40-minute sprint races, the three Mercedes-AMG GT3s and one Mercedes-AMG GT4 produced no fewer than seven Top Ten finishes.

First victory of the 2022 #gtworldchallengeaustralia for Triple Eight Race Engineering: Triple Eight Race Engineering took its first win of the season on the third race weekend of the #gtworldchallengeaustralia. Prince Jefri Ibrahim (MAS) and Shane van Gisbergen (NZL) in the #888 Mercedes-AMG GT3 won Saturday’s one-hour race at Queensland Raceway and supplemented that result with a P3 podium finish on Sunday.
